It looked like the WWF when the Ultimate Warrior would come running from backstage especially since they cut to that scene during the Diggs TD celebration.Texas Vike wrote:
That was so wrong. It felt sordid, like a gossip magazine. Even college teams have a new system for getting some privacy for hurt players this year. They pop a tent over the medical table to keep sensitive info private.

A torn meniscus and same week start?
I thought those were month long injuries?
Like I know Chris Johnson Played on it but I thought that was generally a no no and several weeks of rest.
Re: AD Injury thread
From what I understand it depends on the tear. Some meniscus injuries require surgery and many weeks to heal. Others simply require rest.
Re: AD Injury thread
I had a torn meniscus during basketball season and I was able to play on it. Sometimes it felt absolutely fine and other times it hurt a lot depending on how I stepped or jumped. It's mostly about pain tolerance and AD clearly has a lot of that.

Good to know. I hope he can play but I wouldn't be surprised if Zimmer has him sit a week to rest. Since our passing game is actually our offensives attack this year
This is weird...

Matt Vensel @mattvensel
The #Vikings are evaluating their options with Adrian Peterson, Mike Zimmer said. He said Peterson will sit down with team doctors soon.
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero
#Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says they're going through all options with Adrian Peterson's torn meniscus.
Re: AD Injury thread
I know it's sacrilegious, but I'm looking forward to seeing how well/poorly they play with multi-dimensional running backs for a couple weeks, so I say let him rest the knee. It'll be interesting to find out of Defensive Coordinators are truly smarter than me!!

Re: AD Injury thread
Do you all suppose they will bring up C.J. Ham from the practice squad?
Re: AD Injury thread
Chris Tomasson @christomasson:
Jaguars Jalen Ramsey suffered a torn meniscus tear in May and had surgery. Was running in two weeks, back for camp. But he's younger than AD
So NFL running backs can play with a torn meniscus. We will see with Adrian Peterson this week.
If the #Vikings were to use IR designation to return for Adrian Peterson, could be back for final 7 games (bye week is in there).
They changed the rules this year so that any player put on IR can be brought back as IR designation to return.
Re: AD Injury thread
I didn't even know this was an option:
Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero
Timeline to remember: If Adrian Peterson has meniscus removed, he's probably looking at a 2-3 week recovery. #Vikings have bye in Week 6.

Re: AD Injury thread
If they put AD on IR, then I think they will. Ham was a beast in preseason, I'd like to see what he can do. I'd rather just have AD, but even so, given the circumstances... it might well teach us a bit about how our offense functions with and without AD.Lars wrote:Do you all suppose they will bring up C.J. Re: AD Injury thread
I like the idea of giving AD a couple weeks for surgery or to heal on its own. That gives McKinnon and Asiata some game time and would mean AD is fresh for the 2nd half of the season!

Here is a link to some information abotu the meniscus. It sounds like it could be as little as a few weeks. I am guessing he will be out for Carolina and NYG.

Re: AD Injury thread
At that point I would hold him out for the Texans as well. The week after that would be the bye then he could return for the Eagles game on 23OCT. That would give him just about a month to heal. Of course, I'm not the team doctor so my opinion carries no weight.PurpleMustReign wrote:Here is a link to some information abotu the meniscus. It sounds like it could be as little as a few weeks.
