This seems like a good idea every week.
@TomPelissero: Mike Zimmer says plan was clear: They weren't going to let Rivers stand in and throw. They blitzed heavy. Get the ball out or hit him.

Love this.
@chipscoggins: Said Harrison Smith on Greenway's INT: "Once we saw it was Chad with the ball, we were all like, we have to get him in the end zone. It was because everybody loves him. He's our guy."

@chipscoggins: Chad Greenway was emotional in postgame presser. His 82-year-old grandfather was in attendance today for first time in Greenway's NFL career

Gotta love Greenway as a guy, if not so much as a player at this point. I am glad he will retire as a Viking.

@christomasson After 3 games, #Vikings Harrison Smith is Pro Football Focus NFL top-ranked safety & it's not close Has plus-9.4 to 5.3 for Walter Thurmond
According to @PFF Adrian Peterson had 109 of his 126 yards after contact and forced a ridiculous 10 missed tackles in Minnesota's win over the Chargers
@RLiuNFL Adrian Peterson of @Vikings had 43-yard TD run yesterday, his 16th 40+ yard rush TD. Only Barry Sanders (20) has more in @NFL history
@christomasson #Vikings CB Trae Waynes got an impressive plus 2.3 from Pro Football Focus for his 42 snaps vs. Chargers First NFL defensive snaps by rookie

That's indicative of how fantastic Peterson is but it also illustrates something that's been true for a long time: he needs better blocking!

I think he could be 2000 yards closer to the all-time record by now if the Vikes had managed to build a great o-line at some point in the last 8.5 years. He's had some good ones but imagine him running behind an o-line like the one Smith had in front of him for years in Dallas.

Awesome.

I loved that tweet about Harrison Smith too (see? PFF isn't all bad!).

Uh...yes. Though I wish it was quantified by when first contact is coming. If it's at or behind the line of scrimmage consistently (which I think most of it is), that's definitely as indicative of the offensive line's difficulty in creating rushing lanes as it is Peterson's prowess and refusal to go down.

In an alternate dimension, that would be so much fun (provided you put a different jersey on that team, of course).

Harrison Smith is really playing well. It feels pretty weird to finally have another elite safety in our midst (though it really makes whoever is lined up next to him look even worse by comparison). It's something we haven't had since maybe Sharper.

Interesting! The Bears obviously want to accumulate draft picks and Allen's an awkward fit in their new 3-4 defense so the move makes sense. He should be a better fit in Carolina.

Yeah the Bears had him playing linebacker more or less. Hope the trade works out for Allen.
