Its pure conjecture bordering on fabrication to say that he was defying anyone. There isn't any evidence except the ramblings of internet people who don't care for Spielman's picks, and that isn't evidence at all. Spielman denies it, and Frazier denies it. But lack of evidence won't stop people from believing what they want to believe. What would the internet be without that? :P

I said it was my take on things and I thought that made it was clear I was speculating. I don't know that I even believe it. It's just the explanation that makes the most sense to me.

Yeah and from the looks of it was Spielman from the 6th floor of the book depository  Get over it people, the man who pays his salary trusts him with a billion dollar business and all the complaining and second guessing will not change a thing. BUT if it makes you feel better to keep this going then knock yourselves out :)

Ford's trusted Millen too. Bet the Lion rubes defended him until he was fired.
Good luck clowns.

Frazier got fired because Ponder was unfortunately a bust. Watched Manziel last night and it was one of the best football games I've ever seen. Great college quarterback and team leader. He seems to be about the same size as Brees,Wilson. If Manziel is still there at "8", I hope the team will draft this guy. He's a combination of Tarkenton and Wilson. I realize college isn't the NFL. I'll be watching him at the combine next month should he decide to enter the draft.

Yeah, you're right. The Wilfs trust him, so case closed.....because the Wilfs have proven to be such football experts over the last few years

As I said keep on complaining if it makes you feel better but you won't change a thing. It is the Wilf's decision right or wrong.

I do believe that there was a "collective" decision to start Ponder. I also believe that Frazier wasn't "ordered" to start Ponder. I believe they sat around the table and talked about who should start and that the decision consensus was to start Ponder. I am fine with that. What I am not fine with is a coach who starts Ponder or Freeman and midway through the game its obvious they are playing poorly and sticks with them through the entire game despite the poor play. Especially when you have someone in the wings that has plays well.

I was all for giving Ponder this year to prove himself and felt we should stick with him. However my opinion changed when I saw that his poor play was consistent and there was no improvement. The inability or refusal of Frasier to make those in game decisions seals his fate for me. I don't think Spielman or the Wilfs told Frasier that he had to keep Ponder in the game no matter what. I think that's on Frasier.

Why beat a dead horse? What's done is done and it is time to move on from the Frazier era. I am quite hopefull that the Vikes have a good draft and find "their" QB.

heh, yeah... it's sadly funny but if Ponder doesn't get himself hurt twice, we would have 2 less wins because Frazier would have never put Cassel in to play against the Steelers or the bears where he came in in the 2nd half and torched them to bring us back.

Thanks for posting that.

One thing is for sure.....he will sink or swim with the QB they pick in this draft. No one will accept that Cassel is the answer and we need a solid quality playmaker behind center.

Having Speilman alone to blame is an upgrade over the past power structures in the Vikings organization. At least we will know who to blame....for sure.
