It would have been nice to get some cap relief this year, so we could have front loaded some contracts but alas... least we will get 2 mil or a superbowl next year!

So if I am reading the deal right, his cap number doesn't really change this year but next year the team can make back some of his money if he doesn't rush for a set amount of yards or make the playoffs. He in turn can make money if he rushes for 1900 yards and if they win the Superbowl.... Run for ...

I haven't read the article yet, but I would like to add that not only do teams need to avoid gaping holes, but they also need standout performers. We have that in Smith, Rhodes, Griffen, Sullivan, and Peterson. We also have solid depth on the D-Line, LBs, CB, and WR. If things go the right way ...

I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong...but out of curiosity, who/how many players is he trailing by quite a bit?

Yeah, I think we are closing into the "the window" I believe teams usually get three maybe four years to
win it all. The Niner's are clearly past their window. IMO I think the Seahawk's are in their last year, when
the finally pay Wilson way over 100 million they will have to cut and restrict pay ...

Indeed! Exum would be great but the question was rookie so I didn't consider him. I just want a great safety unit!

I kinda hope its Anthony Harris, the safety they got undrafted. Fell out of the draft due to an injury but we really need help opposite Smith. I would love a first class safety unit helping the corners.

I'm fine with their list. I think Tarkenton and CC are a must and then you have to have a member of the PPE in there, so page is definitely deserving, but I would replace McDaniel with AP. RM is a great Vikings, but I'm not putting an offensive lineman on my Mt. Rushmore. Not when you have guys ...
