I expressed a similar idea above. Honestly, I think it works. As you said, that's the essence of Vikings history, right there. :smilevike:
Really love this photo!
With a little photoshopping it could look like mount Rushmore!
Indeed! It would be a strange looking rock with a purple hue but IF! someone has the time....

Who out of the current roster do you think could eventually challenge the likes of Page etc? Will Peterson redeem himself?

I'd chose Peterson even if he retired this year. How can you not put arguably one of the best RB's ever to play the game? If he just runs his season average for the next 2 years, he'll be sitting 8th all time in rushing yds. Run his average for 3 years? He'll be 5th all time. Only Emmitt, Eric, Walter and Barry would be above him.

My 4:
Peterson
Moss
Page
Tarkenton

Interesting. When you put it that way, despite his age, I still expect him to retire in the top 5.

Peterson has the highest potential right now. He has to be considered best in the league at his position. Any one else would need to improve at least somewhat to be considered that way. Harrison Smith might be next closest but trailing by quite a bit.

I'm not necessarily saying you're wrong...but out of curiosity, who/how many players is he trailing by quite a bit?

Do you mean years in the league? he is only entering his 4th year after all but saying that! he is fast approaching the top 3 at his position. As long as he maintains the level going forward he should be considered one of the best safeties in the league by the establishment by the end of this season.

Interesting.

I'm not sure Randall McDaniel was the best offensive lineman in Vikings history. For my money, that distinction goes to Ron Yary.

But it's hard to name just four players, so who am I to argue?

Go ahead. I dare you.

I bet Joe is on yours. :D

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter
