Was players only. they cheated on the Chicago one and had players who were great managers. We just need to suit grant up for one snap and he makes the list, hell he is the only face on that mountain!PurpleMustReign wrote:Bud Grant would have to be considered too...
Well dang, this is too hard. We would need more than four.

I'm fine with their list. I think Tarkenton and CC are a must and then you have to have a member of the PPE in there, so page is definitely deserving, but I would replace McDaniel with AP. RM is a great Vikings, but I'm not putting an offensive lineman on my Mt. Rushmore. Not when you have guys like AP and Moss left out there.
And in 10-15 years I'm hoping we can chisel Teddy's mug in place of Fran.

So many people tend to forget how good Anthony Carter was too. Ahmad Rashad, Sammy White, Doleman also were very good players often forgotten when we make these list of former Viking players.

Moss would make my list as well. But I'd have to add another face to Rushmore to do it, because I wouldn't want to lose any of the guys already selected.

Actually, 4 of the very best players ever to play in the NFL. They were that good.Mothman wrote:I think the folks at Last Word made good choices. They covered different eras of Vikes football and named 4 of the very best players to ever play for the team.
Hey Jim, I'm sorry that Billy McMullen didn't make the list. I know that has to be upsetting to you.

Imo, Tark, Grant, and Randy are musts. I want to say AP but that might be my generational bias, but idk, so I would leave that 4th spot open to interpretation.

this was a little before my time, but to me the essence of Vikings history is right here. There have been other great players but I'd just put these 4 guys up there and call it done.

B. not too small. They need to be seen from Chicago, Detroit, and GB.

Don't hate on my Buckeyes. Some of the best Vikings went to Ohio State.
Including now, HOF WR #80 Cris Carter

I expressed a similar idea above. Honestly, I think it works. As you said, that's the essence of Vikings history, right there.

Add Joey Browner to that list also. Besides Ronnie Lott he is the Safety of the 80's in my opinion.Laserman wrote:So many people tend to forget how good Anthony Carter was too.
