2nd Half Schedule Predictions.

Post by YikesVikes »

Anyone willing to predict the rest of the schedule and give their explanation for it. Below you guys can find my version.

Sunday Nov. 1 1:00pm ET
at Green Bay Packers
Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI

Coming off the Bye, this team has the advantage to take it to Greenbay. Mike Zimmer has 2 weeks to scheme this defense to give Aaron fits, and get the team prepared to play hard. Did I say Cook should be healthy? With that said, it doesn't matter. We will lose this one. We are never prepared to play out of the bye it seems.
(Lose) 1-6

Sunday Nov. 8 1:00pm ET
Detroit Lions
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

The Lions maybe coming to town and facing the Vikings with actual fans in the seats. We should beat this team. I believe we will bounce back after losing to the Pack and beat the lions.
(Win) 2-6

Monday Nov. 16 8:15pm ET
at Chicago Bears
Soldier Field, Chicago, IL

What happens when an athletic OL goes against an Athletic and Powerful DL? The Oline gets it's lunch money taken. Akiem Hicks is going to make Canton during this game. 3.5 sacks give or take a sack for a deflection leading to an int.
(Lose) 2-7

Sunday Nov. 22 4:25pm ET
Dallas Cowboys
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

Battle of the worst defenses in the NFL. Comes down to OL, DL, and the QB. They beat us at all three.
(Lose) 2-8

Sunday Nov. 29 1:00pm ET
Carolina Panthers
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

DMC is back. Teddy gets cheers being home. Kirk gets boo'd as a result. We lose
(Lose) 2-9

Sunday Dec. 6 1:00pm ET
Jacksonville Jaguars
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

Thank God for this team. Their rookie RB will hit a wall as will their stud rookie WR. Chark is having a down year and the Jags would have benched Minshew for God knows why. We beat them if Minshew doesn't play. Be aware if we play them and they start Minshew... we lose.
(Win) 3-9

Sunday Dec. 13 1:00pm ET
at Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Raymond James Stadium, Tampa, FL

We have never beat Brady. It won't happen this year. Zimmer hot seat talk finally starts. Ownership makes a statement of non-commitment.
(Lose) 3-10

Sunday Dec. 20 1:00pm ET
Chicago Bears
U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN

Beatdown.....Chi win streak against us hits 3 years. Kirk throws for 125 yards. Cook sprains his knee on a dirty tackle. Final count of the election comes in during the game. The game is out of hand and local news cuts to announce Trump was re-elected
(Lose) 3-11

Friday Dec. 25 4:30pm ET
at New Orleans Saints
Mercedes-Benz Superdome, New Orleans, LA

Short week. Cook tries to give it ago but is inactive before gametime. Cousins is serving up presents to the Saints in NO. Demario Davis gets 2 of 3 ints on the day. In the post-game conference, Cousin says he has to look at the film to see how the team played. I lose my #### and start a change.org petition.
(lose) 3-12

Sun Jan. 3 1:00pm ET
at Detroit Lions
Ford Field, Detroit, MI

Lions are fighting for the 7th playoff spot. They need to win and have the ball bouncing their way. The Vikings are sitting at the 3rd overall pick. The Jets are 2-12 with both wins in their division. Vikes have only 1 win in the division and conference. If we lose, we end up with the 1st overall pick as the 2nd place Jags have 3 wins as well, and play a resting Colts team. The result... Jags win, Jets win...., and we blow out the Lions...falling to the 5th overrall pick.

(Win) 4-12

Zimmer retires in the offseason citing his health and the growing concern over the 3rd wave of the CoronaVirus. The 2021 season is postponed.

Plain and simple... with this team this season you can't look at ANY game and expect a win anymore. I was happy this past Sunday thing " Well at least we SHOULD win today". Then came the absolute decimation by bvb the 0-5 Dirty Birds.
So there is NO optimism floating around this guys camp.
I just wanna die as a Super Bowl Champion Viking Fan!!

Lose to the Packers: November road game, may not have Dalvin Cook.

Lose to the Lions: They may be 3-4 or 4-3 and playing for the expanded playoff slot 6th or 7th seed here and our season could be 1-6 and shot. I don't trust our new look D against Stafford.

Lose to the Bears as a Monday Night Football game at Soldier Field. That's also another plot point in the Kirk storylines (prime time games, games against teams that will finish the season with at least 8 wins), another divisional loss, and another knock on Zimmer he loses again to the Nagy-coached Chicago Bears squad putting this team at potentially 0-4 in division. Can you say Hot Seat?
:spanking:

Beat the Cowboys at home: The Cowboys are in total disarray, but so are we right now. We'll win if we're not further injured too badly and still starting Kirk Cousins.

Lose to the Carolina Panthers: I don't have the stats to back it up, but I've got my hunches and anecdotes, which are just as good, right? Doesn't it just feel like Minnesota gets ravaged by former players? Kirk Cousins is a Christian, which is good for him because he'll need Heaven to help him if Teddy plays better than him.

Beat the Jaguars at home. I just feel like we can do it. I don't want to believe this team can lose to the 2020 Jags at home.

Lose to Tampa. Road game against Tom Brady and what could be the best defense in football.

Lose to the Bears again. This could be the game to seal some fates for Zimmer, Spielman and Cousins.

Lose to New Orleans: Short week road game puts coal in our stockings. I just don't believe in this team against QBs who have shown themselves to at least at one point in their careers to have been elite.

Lose to the Lions: I agree with YikesVikes, this could be a home game win-and-in playoffs game for the Lions if they show up with 7 or 8 wins the same way the Bears game was for us. We might be resting starters.

I have us as a 3 to 5 win team, depends how the Panthers and Lions games shake out.

I am with Hunter Morrow.

We got lucky to beat a Houston Texan team who is/was playing no better,..

I predict wins over Jacksonville, Maybe one with Detroit, Dallas and Carolina possibilities, but I think Dallas will whoop us. the Panthers with there stud running back in action will not be a contest, Teddy will be having fun... I am not sold we beat Detroit once,

If we are only to win 3 games, might as well lose those two as well for the puck. Does it matter....

Maybe if we don’t fire Zim and R,S,. On a shorter leash. I don’t feel they are going anywhere this year,

The sad is watching R.S. Screw up a top 5 pick

This game will resemble the first game between the two. I give the Vikings an extra TD if Cook is fully healthy, but he won't be and they won't get it. Their sole TD comes late in the game. Vikings will struggle to get first downs and maintain possession again against a stingy and aggressive Packer defense while Rodgers will put on another passing clinic on offense. Packers will run up the score in the first half before sitting back and playing out most of the second.

I think the Vikings will go up early on the Lions only to watch them claw their way back into the game. Vikes will still be up by a field goal late, but Stafford drives the Lions to a game-winner in the 4th ala Russell Wilson.

The Bears aren't a good team despite what their record says. But that doesn't matter because it seems like the Bears have seasons where they can do no wrong and most bounces seem to go their way, and this is one of those years. This is another game where the Vikings get a last chance to go down the field and score, but Cousins will either be sacked to end the drive, throw an INT, or fumble. Something bad will happen and the Vikings lose in classic Vikings fashion.

The Cowboys might actually be more dysfunctional than the Vikings, and I see this is a game where that elusive and rumored great offense the Vikings supposedly possess shows itself, however briefly, and goes out and wins them a game in spectacular fashion. JJ and Thielen have big games. There is evidence the Vikings defense begins turning the corner in this game as well as the rookie CBs start to settle in a bit and the defensive line shows more consistency as well.

I'm predicting another win. After the Cowboys game the offense continues to play loose and it shows as the Vikings put in another solid effort when they possess the ball. Defensively the Vikings are showing signs of life as well, frustrating the Panthers while creating a turnover or two.

OK, yes, I realize I'm not only predicting a Vikings win in this game, but a convincing Vikings win. Playing against a flawed team like the Jaguars, the Vikings look like Zimmer and Spielman dreamed they would when the season started.

I think this is the first game the Vikings get a healthy Dalvin Cook back. Yes, it will take this long before his groin injury is fully resolved. He might test it out in a few games before this one but this is the first one he can play every snap and will look like himself again.

And then it all comes crashing down... Unlike the 3 opponents before this game, the Bucs are actually good on both sides of the ball, and they will remind the Vikings just how far they have to go as a team to reach that level. This isn't just because of Brady - this will be a complete losing effort by the Vikings on both sides of the ball. I see lots of mistakes by the Vikings in this game, due in large part to building frustration as the Bucs slowly build a lead. For some reason, I think Dalvin Cook gets injured again in this game as well. Not sure if he re-injures the groin or it's something else, but he ends up out for the rest of the season.

Another somewhat close loss, but a loss nonetheless. I see this game tied late, but the Bears drive the field for the winning field goal as time expires. The Vikings and their fans are kind of like the crew on the fishing boat Andrea Gale in the movie "The Perfect Storm" at this point. There was a brief lull in the storm as the ship sailed into the eye of the storm, but it is in this game that we all collectively realize we're not getting out of the 2020 season that easy.

And then the big wave hits...

Saints win this one easily. I see them up 28-0 at the half before cruising to the win. Cousins and the offense manage to pile up the garbage time stats and make the final score presentable, but the game is never really close.

Final hurrah for the season, and with a higher draft spot for the Vikings possible and the Lions needing the win to make the playoffs, the Vikings play competently and with effort to doom both possibilities. This win makes no sense at all, and yet it happens all the same. Vikings head into the offseason on a high note, with just enough evidence of growth and development and just enough excuses for the many shortcomings of the team for the Wilfs to keep both Zimmer and Spielman around for another year.

Well I don't see the NFL finishing all the games on the schedule as COVID rears it's ugly head. So I won't give specific game predictions. But I will say:

We will win one game that absolutely NO ONE thinks we will win. So that means either GB, healthy CAR or TB. I say we win one of those three and get squashed in the other two. After the one win, a large portion of this board will be excited enough to ask if we've turned the corner?

We will lose more than one game that most feel we should win, and that puts an end to all the "corner turning" talk. Posters here vilify Cousins way beyond the current level, as he plays horribly in these games. In this category, the DET games, JAX or DAL all come to mind. I see us losing at least 3 of those 4.

Don't see us beating CHI at all.

Simply no way we win three games in a row.

So I'm staring at a three or four win season. We pick between #5 and #8 in the draft.

While it would make sense for Zim to retire after the season, we have too many coaches sons on the staff for the dads to quit. If Zim is gone it will be because he was fired.

Unless the Jets hire someone like Lincoln Riley, Trevor Lawrence makes it known (as the Jets continue to lose) that he will stay in school for his senior year. In that case we'll need a "Trevor Talk" section on this board.

Ergo my wording it that way. However, Gruden's 10 yr/$100M contract surely changes some notions for some folks.

Pretty much agree with both. I think Detroit we split that series, the strange thing is I feel we will lose to the Jags. Even though it should be one of our few wins.

I also hope we play the games competively., but lose all. The odds of getting Trevor or Fields are slim to none. But Spielman would probably draft a CB anyway

Some pretty crazy predictions here. Good write up. However, one thing I will say, I dont see the Cowboys beating us. At least we still have a fairly talented offense for the most part. The Cowboys are currently starting Ben DiNucci at QB.

I also dont think Zim retires and I dont believe the season will be postponed. Overall, it was a good read!

I'm actually pretty excited to see Harrison Hand is action this weekend. I thought he's played fairly decent in limited action and by the looks of it, he's going to be forced to start. Going against Rodgers in your first start isnt easy but definitely interested to see how he plays
