Case Keenum
Eventually, he will be replaced by the Skins QB. I want him back. Anyon opposed to trading for him. He is making 3.5 million I believe. I would give up a 6th for him. I dont mind benching cousins for 2 seasons. I dont think he is a bad Qb. However, he will never get this time to a title. Once the pressure increases, he will fold.

Re: Case Keenum
He is the perfect backup. If we had a QB who wasn't a lock to start the next 30 games, I would want him. Maybe sign him in 2021 to mentor a rookie.YikesVikes wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:59 pm Eventually, he will be replaced by the Skins QB. I want him back. Anyon opposed to trading for him. If Case is so good why would he be replaced? Once the pressure increases the entire team folds. Or haven't you been watching. Just like the NFC Champ game. The entire team folded including the great Case. He looked like he never played a down in the NFL. Even the week before it took a miracle to win at home.StumpHunter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 7:59 pmHe is the perfect backup. Replaced as a backup? When has that happened?CharVike wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 6:15 amIf Case is so good why would he be replaced? Once the pressure increases the entire team folds. The guy isn't a starter, and frankly, if you watched the game Sunday he was not very good, even if he was better than Cousins. He threw two passes that hit defenders right in the hands that he was very lucky to not have picked.
That being said, the move in 2017 was to extend Case for a couple years at about 30 million, and draft a QB in the first. Depending on how Jackson turns out, we then have our franchise guy for years in a best case scenario, a better option than Cousins for a couple of seasons, worst case. Case into Jackson in 2018 has us in the playoffs, and Jackson has been significantly better this season than Cousins. Not sure about the longevity of Jackson's play style, but I think you can get a few good years out of that type of QB, which is better than what we are getting from Cousins.

Re: Case Keenum
Seriously why can't you guys let this go? At the end of 2017 they had a chance to sign a QB who on paper was better than Keenum in almost every possible way. They pulled the trigger. Do you really feel like Cousins had a worse season in 2018 than Keenum had in Denver? There is a reason Keenum is on his 3rd team in three seasons and all the teams he signs with are those that lack a viable QB. .
But I'm sure you guys are smarter than all the NFL GMs that have moved on from Keenum, so please continue.

Who is this in response too? Read the comments in this thread again. No one has said he was the answer at QB.mansquatch wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:53 am Seriously why can't you guys let this go? Case has "IT". His teammates love him and he raises the play of others around him. I don't hate Cousins and I defend him more than any other player but, come on, it is clear we will never make it to the big dance with him. Clear as day.

Case is cheap and had success on this team, it is a reasonable take.

Re: Case Keenum
Bottom line is Zimmer didn't like Case that is why we left him walk.
The same with Sloter...and that's why he is with the Cards.
Guess we will see how this season plays out...good or bad.

Re: Case Keenum
Ughh just why??? Why is this a thread? 1: The vikings will 110% NOT be trading for him. 2: He's not good 3: Do you really believe Keenum is a SB caliber QB? I would think not so what is the point in trading for him?? To see if he pulls off another lucky year? Like this thread and the Sloter threads are the threads that really make me roll my eyes at the ridiculous overreactions on this board when something goes wrong. In week fricken 2 no less. This is like one of those "lets see how many people we can get fired up on here" threads. IT'S WEEK 2! Case Keenum is old news, can't be trusted and simply not a good quarterback. Move on!YikesVikes wrote: ↑Mon Sep 16, 2019 5:59 pm Eventually, he will be replaced by the Skins QB. I want him back. Anyon opposed to trading for him. He is making 3.5 million I believe. Re: Case Keenum
Exactly. Like this thread and the Sloter thread does nothing but clutter the board with crap and get guys arguing back and forth. Nor are either realistic options.mansquatch wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 9:53 am Seriously why can't you guys let this go? Re: Case Keenum
Case does not have anything. He has little skill is what he has. It's clear to anyone with a brain that Keenum will never make the big dance. Keenum will be lucky to ever make the playoffs again in his career other than if he's backing up someone.YikesVikes wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 1:16 pm Case has "IT".
