Something tells me that Blanton's injury has led to this signing. Reading between the lines, Zimmer may not have any faith in Raymond, Sanford, Sendejo for the SS spot.

Still, if Crocker ends up starting for us, it would be a major let down.

Blanton and Sendejo's injuries. Not a good sign for what Zimmer sees in the remaining safeties if he's bring in a 34 year old free agent. I assume this is a depth move more than anything else.

First off.. I'm softly rooting for you guys this year only because I'm really a Bengals fan ever since my dad openly cussed out Art Modell. That's been more than a few years ago. I like Mike and crocker both..
Crocket's a good guy to have for you. He knows Mikes system well and can bring a lot of NFL experience to your dbs. He came in to the Bengals year after year when the dB's kind of fell apart and stabilized things right away.. Zimmer is going to hold players accountable so you have that going for your team.
Now I really have a team to root to kick both GB and Dallas around.. For unknown reasons and much to my dismay my daughter's a Dallas fan..
Anyway.. Good luck and chew up the NFCN.. :smilevike:

the guy had 15 picks so you have to get a little pumped up for that..

Hopefully the guy is a great addition and Harrison Smith has a partner finally

In 11 years. But 5 of them were in the last two seasons with Zimmer in Cinci, so that's good.

That means he is better in Zimmer's system or getting more savy in his play..

If the guy comes in and gets 4 picks 30 tackles, 10 passes defended and two forced fumbles I will be fine for a late free agent pick up

Immediate upgrade over every safety not named Harrison Smith...even when they were healthy. Hopefully someone steps up at some point, but until then might as well have someone competent at the position. Nice to see some of the additions the defense has made. Should be quite a bit better than last year, ignoring the system itself.

I don't know if you were being sarcastic or not but considering the fact that the ENTIRE TEAM had a total of 12 INT's last year.......ya I would take that. In fact, I would take that from anyone on the roster I don't care if its a lineman, Linebacker, DB or corner....4 INT's will probably lead this team.

I agree. I still like Blanton and Raymond as favorites to make the team but with Crocker knowing Zimmer's system, it's a definite upgrade. He's a good guy to have around and to help the young guys understand this defense.

There might be some that disagree with Raymond as a favorite to make the team but word is, he has been having a great camp and was running with the "ones". I've always been a fan of Raymond's. Much more than I ever was of Sanford

I was being hopeful .. if Crocker had five interceptions, in the last two years with our HC defense .., I don't see four picks;as a huge leap
this season. I think our Defensive line is going wreak havoc.. Cook is gone so that will help. Price should be better.. Rhodes should be
better.. Smith should be an all pro...

Good to see Crocker is playing again! He used to end up on the Bengals every year, the last couple of years he came in mid season after injuries. One year he came off the couch and got an interception the first week back. He's a great Zimmer guy. You will like him. I'm a Cincy fan first and foremost, but I'm a big Zimmer fan so I'll be pulling for you guys too this year.

Those aren't the greatest credentials, you'll have to admit. A guy who typically spends August sitting on the couch and then gets called up later in the season. Eventually, the guy has nothing left to give.

All I can tell you is he always came through, whatever Zim asked him to do. To come off the couch in your thirties and get an interception the first week speaks to his work ethic for sure.
