Well I'm working from home today.
75,000+ people here without power. Luckily I am not one of them (yet, at least).
This is the view from my back yard. The snow is still coming down and is supposed to continue until about 1pm. (about two more hours). Up til this point it's been mostly ice.

Keep safe Cliff!
The Devil whispered in the Viking's ear, "There's a storm coming." The Viking replied, "I am the storm." #SKOL2018

Doesn't look much different here, welcome to Minnesota, Cliff!
You guys get those ice storms, we get a few but there doesn't seem to be as much damage here when it happens. I recall you were without power for a while at least once before and that is miserable in the winter. I love your state, but I think I'll pass on winters there.
This year it has been so cold here the the snow has been fluffy and easy to move. We've had a decent amount of snow, but not the heavy, wet stuff. That is the only upside to being cold as heck.

Just wait until march, John! That's when we'll get the wet, heavy stuff. Unfortunately.John wrote:This year it has been so cold here the the snow has been fluffy and easy to move. We've had a decent amount of snow, but not the heavy, wet stuff. That is the only upside to being cold as heck.

Cliff's area has a history of getting hammered by ice. It's our fault, we send the artic air east and they seem to be in the perfect spot where that meets warmer, southern temps. I had a friend with large greenhouses in the Lexington area - he rebuilt them a couple times after storms ike this one.
