So, surgery tomorrow.
Man I hope all goes well with AD. He's a lot of fun to watch.

Re: AD Injury thread
Josina Anderson reporting that Peterson will be out a minimum of 3-4 month.
I'm silently hoping she actually meant 3-4 weeks. But we will be alright either way.

Latest is a minimum 3-4 months, up to 6DMB1MT wrote:So, surgery tomorrow.

Yeah, I thought that seemed high compared to the early reports.beerfan wrote:Josina Anderson reporting that Peterson will be out a minimum of 3-4 month.

Re: AD Injury thread
If he cant work it out for a length of time in recovery then there will be rehab time.
assuming its a few weeks of zero work It will probably take a couple months or more to go from gentle rehab to full simulated game effort.
Sounds about right

Re: AD Injury thread
Decent chance that the last time we see Peterson in a Vikings uniform was him being helped to the locker room, unless he is willing to restructure his contract for significantly less money.
Re: AD Injury thread
We signed Hillman.

There are plenty of people saying that on Twitter too. It's possible but if he doesn't actually play again this season, the free agent market for his services will take a hit and it probably wasn't going to be great at his age anyway.
When he and his agent agreed to his current deal, they probably understood it was essentially for 2 years, with a likely cut or renegotiation coming in 2017. If the Vikings want Peterson back I'd say there's a good chance they will be able to successfully renegotiate his deal and bring him back next year. They like him, he likes Zimmer, he's been a Vikings for his whole career and they're an improving team. perhaps more significantly, he may not get a better offer.
All of that's a long way off. We'll see how it plays out. Right now, we don't even have details about the surgery or a firm recovery timetable.

I think that comes down to the Vikings this year because if AP leaves I am sure it will be to hunt a Ring. If the Vikings make it to the Bowl this year or they get close I would guess AP would take a cut and stick around for his "Best shot"
Assuming we make the playoffs AP would probably be ready by then, depends on how they work IR and what not.

Re: AD Injury thread
Meniscal damage is forever. Its is NOT like an ACL. the best they can do is take the flap and essentially staple it in place but the tear will not close up and heal. Any area destroyed will become an area of bone on bone contact. That cartilage does not regenerate. While all Pro players develop some osteoarthritis AP will now experience it at a far faster rate. Its a very bad thing.
IF the team (SPielman) has ANY sense, they will realize that AP is on the down slope and NOT worth any large contract. I fear they will make very foolish decisions based on marketing. They stuck with SUlly when it was near medically impossible for him to come back in any meaningful way. They stuck with Kalil when he has been a bust in every possible way......This looks like a big mistake in the making.

Peterson, who was injured Sunday, told ESPN's Josina Anderson that he has a "bucket handle tear" of the meniscus, which typically has a minimum recovery time of three to four months. Vikings coach Mike Zimmer, however, conceded Wednesday that Peterson could be gone for the season.
"(I'm) doing it with faith and optimism," Peterson told ESPN of the procedure.
He had been provided with multiple options about how to treat the injury, and he had been waiting to hear back from Dr. James Andrews, who performed extensive surgery on Peterson's knee in 2011, before making his decision.

Re: AD Injury thread
It's amazing how what started as incredible optimism has turned so depressing and sour. Losing our starting QB, RB, LT and surrendering our 2017 first-rounder by week 3.Mothman wrote:
