Basically, we suck about the same, but they have HFA. Sounds about right. Freeman will be an interesting "wildcard" though. I could see it going surprisingly well, or horribly bad. It'll at least make the game worth watching (for a quarter or so, anyway).headless_norseman wrote:The winless Giants are favored by -3.5 pts. Nuff said.

I think that sums it up pretty good, right there.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

I wonder how the Vikings' loss of Harrison Smith will affect the line. Could get really ugly Monday night.

Re: Predictions: MIN @ NYG
Even with Smith, our secondary was a debacle, the worst part of a defense that gave up 32 points a game.
Without Smith...
Wow.
Screwed so screwed.
Eli is gonna hang 4 or 5 touchdowns on us.

We lose by 21.
In the past 5 years, how many prime time games have we won? And on the road. Fraizer couldn't even prepare this team t win at home, after a bye week.

I don't think people realize how bad our secondary is. No Bishop, Rhodes is hurt, Chris Cook has
more criminal arrests than forced fumbles and interceptions, losing Winfield was GARGANTUAN (Winfield to Robinson
has been described as the single biggest talent downgrade in the league this season, I'm apt to agree!)
and our best secondary player is gonna be out for this game, if not the season.
Here is our defense, with Smith, Bishop and a healthy Rhodes.
I gotta repost these stats. People have to realize how bad it is.
- 26th in opponent completion percentage (66.7%)
- 29th in passing yards allowed/game (300.8 )
- 30th in points allowed/game (31.6)
- 31st in yards allowed/game (418)
- 31st in third down success rate allowed (49.3%)
- 31st in receiving touchdowns allowed (13)

So we're not dead last in any defensive category. You're saying there's a chance...Hunter Morrow wrote:I don't think people realize how bad our secondary is. No Bishop, Rhodes is hurt, Chris Cook has

I am bracing myself for tonight's game for the very reasons so well demonstrated above.Just Me wrote: So we're not dead last in any defensive category. You're saying there's a chance...
I'd love to say, "This is the week that Frazier's patience and long term vision for the secondary comes to fruition and Robinson shows us what his coach knew all along... that he was made for the slot, it was only an adjustment period..." But I don't see it.

It seems unlikely, doesn't it?Texas Vike wrote:I am bracing myself for tonight's game for the very reasons so well demonstrated above.

On the other hand, the Giants are:
— 23rd in opponent completion percentage (64.3%)
— 24th in passing yards allowed/game (268)
— 30th in points allowed/game (31.6)
— 32nd in points allowed/game (34.8 )
— 26th in yards allowed/game (391.3)
— 31st in third down success rate allowed (49.3%— in other words, as bad as the Vikings)
— 26th in receiving touchdowns allowed (14)
Note that those rankings include yesterday's games so some teams have moved behind the Vikes and Giants in certain categories. For example, in that last one, the Vikes are currently 24th, not 31st. Anyway, the point is the Giants are as bad or worse in some of the categories Hunter listed above as the Vikings. Furthermore, their offense is averaging 7.8 fewer points per game than the Vikes and Eli has already thrown 16 interceptions this season.
It's bad vs. bad... something has to give. Maybe the Giants will end up being just what the Vikings need to get things turned in the right direction.

OK, I know that was ( 34.8 ) and the 8 followed by ) made the 'cool' smiley face, but given that that was the *only* category where the Giants were dead last, I chuckled as it was quite appropriate to throwMothman wrote: — 32nd in points allowed/game (34.![]()
