Even for me, who didn't even want them to sign Bishop. Mind boggling they'd bring the guy in, and then pull something like this. Heck even Bishop sounds flabbergasted. What a mess...

Well, the #Vikings announced they brought back RB Joe Banyard to practice squad and released RB Randle and DE Okpalaugo.

I wonder if they're doing the same thing they did last year with alternating two guys on the practice squad every other week.

What I read of Okpalaugo's preseason in Miami was intriguing. Sounds like they could be making room for D'Aundre Reed.

What was the reason for them doing that? I don't remember the logic.

LMAO. Our backers got owned on Sunday and Bishop still isn't going to get a shot? Why am I not surprised. I am so sick of this coaching staff.

For the team, gives them a chance to evaluate both guys, for the players, it gets them both paid at least.

No way they keep jerking him around after they watch the tape. Have faith. frazier and williams are only competent guys on this entire coaching staff top to bottom.

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Kevin Williams was back on the practice field on Wednesday for the first time since he injured his right knee on a low block from San Francisco's Joe Looney on Aug. 25. The six-time Pro Bowler said last week he was shooting to return for the Vikings' game against the Bears this Sunday, and it would appear Williams is still on pace to do that.

"Glad to have him back," coach Leslie Frazier said. "Hopefully everything will go fine with him this week and we'll have him on Sunday as well."

Rookie LB Michael Mauti told me he's hopeful he'll be activated for first time this week. #Vikings
Don't get excited. If Bishop isn't getting snaps over Mitchell, Mauti probably won't over Henderson.

As mujch has been made about Bishop vs Mitchell, the real issue is MLB.

I think I'd rather see Bishop there and have Mauti back him up while moving Henderson back outside.

Can't say that Bishop or Mauti are up to speed at MLB......but that would be my choice.

I'm guessing he might take Ellison's spot on special teams if he can't go.

Andrew Sendejo - DB - Vikings

Vikings signed S Andrew Sendejo to a two-year, $2 million extension through 2015.

He gets $400,000 guaranteed, with another $600,000 available through incentives. Sendejo, 26, is not a defensive contributor, but had ten special teams tackles in 2012 and is considered a core member of kick and punt cover units.

Even though I'm sure Jim couldn't attend any game where this is in a place of prominence, it'd be kind of hilarious -- in an icky kind of way.
Idea from @JeffDubay to tick off the Packers: Vikings should retire Favre's No. 4 before Green Bay does it. That was a fun run in 2009.

I genuinely enjoyed the 2009 season until the end of the NFCCG. That being said I want them to retire #4 just so we can aggravate Jim about it for years to come.
