Happy for him!!

Can’t help but wonder what this team would look like with him behind center.

I'm happy for Teddy. The kid faced so much adversity and held such a positive attitude displayed such Grace. And that kid was LOVED in the organization and still is.
Hate he has to be winning for the Saints but so happy for him.
I know some here say he blows and cant throw the ball... well.. yesterday he sure did sling it. Great for him

I just went over to NFL.com and watched his "best throws" highlights. Man, he looked phenomenal. He's a different quarterback than when he was with us.

Hate to say it, but I think he may be the heir-apparent to Drew Brees. The guy looks GOOD, and they love him in New Orleans. No surprise there. He's easy to like.

I don't get how a Vikings fan can NOT love what Case Keenum did for this team.

There are lots of videos of his play that season, but the one that stands out to me is the one where he's NOT on the field. The Vikings had just beaten Tampa Bay, and Mike Zimmer gave Keenum the game ball. The locker room went absolutely nuts. They mobbed him and dog piled him like baseball teams do when they win the World Series. The team loved that guy, and they loved playing for him.

Can anyone here honestly say that if Kirk Cousins were to get a game ball, there would be anything other than a golf clap?

You can see my my avatar that I'm a Joe Kapp fan. Joe Kapp was the very epitome of that kind of leadership. The team would have run through the fires of hell for Joe Kapp because he laid it on the line for them every single play. Kapp's ceiling, if you base it just on his talent, wasn't even as high as Keenum's, but he was the ultimate gamer. Case Keenum has that same willingness to lay it on the line for his team. Watch his runs from that season. You almost never saw him slide, yet he never gets hurt. And don't kid yourself. Case Keenum can sling the ball. He has a gunslinger mentality, which can get him in trouble with turnovers, but I believe that's what the Vikings need. Cousins is a yes-man. Zimmer says to not take chances ... Cousins happily obliges. You saw it against the Bears. I think the Vikings need a guy who will push Zimmer's envelope, somebody that Zimmer actually has to hold back. Kirk Cousins, the safe guy, has almost as many turnovers in four games as Keenum, the risk-taker, did for an entire season. Go figure.

We need leadership from the quarterback position. We're not getting it. I've said it before and I'll say it again ... I'd rather have Keenum than the way Cousins is playing.

It seems every time I make a post in this thread, I think it's my last one.

I agree totally that Keenum was loved by the team. He had a lot of those intangibles that a winning QB has. What irks me the most is how his other QB talents are so belittled on the board. At no point did I or will I put Keenum in some sort of "elite" category. He's not that. But it's not like he's a complete disaster of a QB that just luckily found success for one glorious year in Minnesota.

He played college football for Houston, where he became the NCAA's all-time leader in total passing yards, touchdowns, and completions. In the 2008 college football season, Keenum ranked first nationally in total offense and second in total passing yards.During the 2011 season, Keenum became the Football Bowl Subdivision's all-time leader in total offense, as well as the all-time leader in total touchdown passes by an FBS quarterback. He is the only quarterback in Division I FBS football history to have passed for more than 5,000 yards in each of three seasons. That's not something to ignore.

I guess the thing that bothers me is that when someone, who is under valued at something, is given the chance to prove the naysayers wrong, and he does (like his magical year in Minny), I am the kind of person that believes he earned the opportunity to show us if it was truly a fluke or for real. But he was never given that chance. Essentially, there is nothing a QB like Keenum can do to change the mind of his detractors.

Those here that believe his performances in Denver and Washington prove anything are entitled to that opinion. But it's one that I disagree with. There are many, MANY coaches and owners around the league that have the same mentality of preconceived notions of a QB. Just because he was benched in favor of some other younger QB means nothing because that was intent from the beginning. He was placed on teams with no talent around him, and told to win and if he didn't he was benched.

Like I've said (it seems like) a thousand times, I don't KNOW if Kennum would have had success here. I just think he earned the right to see.

As long as he stays healthy I think they do.

And yeah, very easy to like.

I am hoping Brees stays for one more year. If he does, Teddy hits the FA market and has his choice of QB needy teams and I don't think the Saints will be able to afford him.

He played good yesterday, no doubt but I am still not sold on him. The Bucs have the #32 pass defense in the NFL. Yes, dead last. So his game might seem impressive but the Bucs secondary is horrendous. The other games he has won have been mostly game management and throwing check downs. His YPA is 6.6 or less in every game outside of the Tampa game. He's been fairly accurate, but you usually are when you're throwing short passes all game.

I think it probably helps to have an offensive specialist in Sean Payton as a head coach. We didn't really get to see what Teddy could do here because we forced AD the ball and have had an antiquated offensive system with Zimmer, which, now that I think of it, is probably impacting our ability to evaluate offensive talent.

I'm rooting for Teddy. Wish he was still on the Jets so I could root for him and his team.

I was very excited for the season the year Teddy had the terrible knee injury. As far as I was concerned he was really playing great in that pre season. I was so bummed when he went down.
I hope he continues to have success, just with an AFC team and not the Saints

They had given up a lot of yards before today's game but the YPA, completion percentage and TDs given up weren't bad at all. They had 5 TDs thrown on them in 4 games coming in, and Teddy almost doubled that.

They are not a great defense by any means, but they aren't the worst in the NFL.

Never did I say they are the worst defense. I said worst PASS defense. They are giving up the most yards, 10th worst YPA, the most first downs, the 3rd most 20+ yard completions, the 3rd most 40+ yard completions. They are also 5th lowest in sacks. You could pretty much pass all day on that team and have success. So no matter which way you shake it, TB's pass defense is horrible. Sugar coat it with little statistics all you want, it doesnt change anything. They have a legit run defense. But their pass defense is arguably the worst in the NFL.

This is similar to the argument you made after the Oakland game. These little meaningless statistics you try to find to prove someone wrong. Saying Oaklands pass rush is decent because they sacked Pat Mahomes twice. Literally means nothing. This pass defense is bad. Period. Teddy's season so far already shows how he fairs against stronger teams. He checks the ball down and manages the game. Yesterday he had a cupcake matchup throwing the ball and he took advantage. Congrats Teddy. But I still dont trust the guy throwing the football one bit.
