Why? He's made a ton of money. Despite a sub-par job. If I'm working with a guy who isn't carrying his weight, I want him fired regardless of how good of a human being he is. Same goes for the quarterback of an NFL team times ten. He was reached for, over paid, performed poorly. He's got a knock out wife, a huge bank account, and 29 starts in the NFL. He's accomplished more than 99% of people do in their lifetime. Including a solid collegiate career, even more so academically apparently. He has plenty of options at this point in his life, and he isn't even 25 years old.
And some people say you can only see the bad side of things!

After that description, I wish
I was Ponder!

I'm not going to feel bad long, but I feel bad because he was obviously feeling bad. It must be a great disappointment for him. Its called empathy. Not all have it.
And it doesn't diminish my desire to not see him play.

I feel so bad for Ponder that I actually want him to start this Sunday.

He's trying to play it cool but deep down we know he's hurting on the inside. Let him start!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nah Im kidding. He's a grown man, time to suck it up and move on. The best thing he can do is continue to get better, no matter what order he's in on the depth chart. Im sure some team will pick him up if he gets traded or released.

I haven't watched many of their games; are they not running the same scheme as last season? Or can it be attributed to his lack of weapons (sound familiar)? The Crabtree injury is looking pretty big right now.
Right, when you're a one read QB and your top option goes out that hurts you much more than a Tom Brady who makes any schmuck look good so it does sound familiar, in the same way Ponder just needed more weapons! Some of his stats under pressure are down right awful as well. He's 18th in YPA at 4.7, 26th in yards, and 33rd in completion percentage at 23.8%. Like Ponder he melts like butter under pressure and tends to hold the ball too long if his first read is covered. They've even tried a similar thing with him and rolling him out (but to his right!) a lot trying to get him on the move and playing on instinct. Averaging less than 140 yards per game passing since week 2. Last week he went 6 for 15 (40%) for 113 yards.
Trading for him would be like resetting the Ponder experiment by another 2 years imo.

Cassel starting Sunday. Ponder backup.
Leslie Frazier said they would evaluate the quarterback situation Monday and "see where we are."

Am I the only one who doesn't think Ponder's wife is slamming? I feel like she's the kind of girl I went to high school with that constantly drank some awful candy coffee from starbucks at every moment.
