If I remember the rules correctly, a veteran's full salary is guaranteed if he makes the opening day roster (or something like that, or it was like that when the last union contract was negotiated). So it makes some sense to wait a game before signing Winfield, if that's really the case.

Considering we will probably be playing in the nickel >75% and Mitchell plays ST it seems smart to probably dress an extra DB rather than a LB. Guess we will see, but I firmly believe that Bishop will at somepoint this season make significant contributions on this team.

#Vikings have Joe Webb on various punt team looks. Also a blocker on the edge with punt return.

Frazier said Kalil has some technique issues to fix. Reason for his struggles.

Jeff Locke told me it was the same issue with each punt, "my steps" leading to kick were off. Said it's an easy fix. We'll see. #Vikings

Desmond Bishop said he needs "luck" to get on the field. I asked him what he meant, 20 sec later, "I don't know how to explain it."

That's discouraging but at least Frazier believes the problem is correctable.

Needs the guy who he's already out playing skill wise to get hurt.

That's the only way I can understand it as well.
Why that's the case with freakin' Mitchell, who knows...

Admittedly, that was the first thing that came to me as well. And if that's the case, it is a true head scratching moment.
