Parsons to Greenbay
I know it's not Vikings news but it is in the division.
Re: Parsons to Greenbay
Short term is would seem to help GB, and its another great (maybe great?) player the Vikings have to deal with twice a year. But big salaries like that usually mean the team will not be able to re-sign certain veteran players when their contracts are up, plus the loss of 2 first round picks. Not sure it's really a great deal for GB, maybe better for Dallas.

Re: Parsons to Greenbay
Unfortunately, I would say Green Bay probably got the better end of this deal. The two first round picks that they gave up will probably be pick 25 or later as they do have a pretty good team already, and it is really rare to get a generational type of talent who is only 26 years old. Kenny Clark will be a big loss for them though as he is a pretty good D tackle, but until we see who Dallas uses the two first round picks on we won't know who really won the trade.

Re: Parsons to Greenbay
Parsons is good but there is a lot of risk involved for the Packers with this move. Big contract and had to give up a lot to get him.
The NFC North is just stacked again this year. Four teams that might be among the best in the entire NFL will be slugging it out and probably laying waste to most of their non-divisional opponents this season. I'm lumping the Bears in because of all the high end talent they've acquired and their new head coach. From the perspective of the Vikings winning the division is going to be a tall order, but whatever team(s) make the playoffs out of the North they should be seriously battle-tested and ready to compete for it all.

Packers trade for Micah Parsons!
I’m not sure this shouldn’t be in NFL talk, but it does affect the Vikings. Of course Dallas trades him to the pukers, oof. They give up their next two number one draft picks and Kenny Clark.

Think its a great trade for GB football wise. Don't know what Dallas is doing here. Picks are going to be lower, and they did this... a week before season starts?
The contract they gave him is something.

Re: Parsons to Greenbay
The addition of Parsons and only losing a declining Kenny Clarke probably moves the Pukers from a 7-10 team to a 9-8 team. They're still likely to get swept by us and Detroit. They don't worry me at all.Husker Vike wrote: ↑Thu Aug 28, 2025 7:11 pm Unfortunately, I would say Green Bay probably got the better end of this deal. I like the way you think.
Re: Parsons to Greenbay
I think this was a good trade for the Packers. Pass rushers like Parsons are hard to find. Plus that was a weak part on their defense. Losing Kenny Clark will hurt but he's not the player he was anymore and it appears his better days are behind him.

I see it the same. This move probably gets them to 9 wins on the season. Possibly 10. Lions and Vikings still sweep them.

I just heard that Parsons is having back issues and he may not play week one.
