:welcome

It's usually pretty dead around this time of year and kicks back up when the regular season gets going.

Very quiet. Here is something. I don't know anything about this guy. And I'll second my own suggestion, start a catch all thread for training camp. (I suppose I could do that)

Which guy? Rondale Moore?

Training camp is almost over, so probably not much point in starting a thread for it. Cliff has been posting stories (thanks Cliff!) from camp, but yeah, the forum is pretty dead right now. I'm looking forward to the start of the season. I get a good vibe from this year's team and this is the first year in a long time I've been excited to see if the Vikings might finally be able to settle on a young QB they drafted instead of finding veteran value in the free agency flea market or shoveling more money at veteran QB rentals.

Watching Cowherd right now, he picked the standings for all 8 divisions, he has Vikings last, Packers first. I think people don't know what to make of McCarthy, so ranking Vikings a little low. They seem to exceed expectations every year (until the playoffs :? )

Cowherd has bur up his #### about the Vikings not sure why but I also cant understand how the Packers always get so much love from the media . They have not done anything special since their pasting of a dysfunctional Cowboys team a few years back . I like when the Vikings are underdogs they just seem to play better . Skol Vikings !

Waiting for the season to start here. Its just a dead time. I'm not local so I don't get to see much in the way of pre-season coverage and talk.

I think picking the Packers first over the Lions is more controversial than picking the Vikings last. Not sure what he is thinking there. The Packers aren't better than the Lions. They weren't last year and I don't see what they've done to close the talent gap. I'm also not a fan of Jordan Love. He's a decent QB, but nothing special. One could say the same about Jared Goff I guess but Goff has consistently made it deep into the playoffs playing on multiple teams, for multiple coaches and in multiple systems. He's not flashy but he gets it done consistently. The Lions might have a slightly weaker offensive line this year but I also doubt their defense will suffer so many injuries.

As for the Bears, they've certainly got a lot of highly drafted talent on the team now and their new head coach is a respected offensive mind. I'm still not sold on them. In my view they have the most to prove of all NFC North teams. Caleb Williams is a boom-bust QB. He is probably the most physically gifted QB in the NFC North, but I wonder if he can make the leap from great athletic talent QB to a QB who understands how and when to apply that talent in game situations.

The Vikings come down to how JJ McCarthy performs. If JJ is the real deal the overall team is as talented as any in the league. If not, Cowherd is probably right in his assessment. We don't have enough data to make a determination yet. I expect McCarthy to do well, mostly because KOC seems sold on him and KOC knows QB talent.

I'd rank the NFC North teams as follows right now:

- Lions
- Vikings
- Bears
- Packers

Cowherd *loves* Darnold and I think he's salty because the Vikings let him walk. Now he's hoping they bomb to prove him right.

The media loves the Packers because they have a lot of fans and it gets them views/clicks to say good things about them when they have a remotely good team.

I did think this was an unusual decision by the Vikings.

I've got no real opinion about it. The cheerleaders are a silly part of the game in general to me.

These guys may be WR2 and WR3 on opening day, so it's all good by me.

I do not care about the male cheerleaders but I am sure Packers, Bears, and Lions fans will make fun of it unless Packers, Bears, and Lions have male cheerleaders
