Felton's production on the field was one of the top in the nation. His measurables at the combine were 95th percentile for WRs. There's a lot to like. Who was the last WR we drafted from Maryland anyway?

Good hands, great feet/awareness, explosive jump ball ability.

Potentially some insulation for an Addison suspension?
Addison is getting suspended for 3 games at most
Replacement for Brandon Powell perhaps?

There's plenty to like about him. Nailor had his issues with drops and injuries. He should develop into a solid no 3 WR from the slot. Looking further into the future can they pay Addison when he comes up for a new deal? We already have a highly paid No 1. Only the Bengals dump a big pct of the cap into WRs. Yes it meets the entertainment side but it hurts the overall building of a team.

I like both picks. Based on KAM's golf analogy comment of "we want players who will keep the ball in the fairway", I would not be sure that Addison is in any long term plans.

Yes. And wr depth is always good in today's passing game. Think it was a pick to help with Addison suspension and be regular 3rd wr.

I don't think Addison is here for his 2nd contract either.

I think that's absolutely correct. Dudes first statement after getting drafted was "lets get paid". He'll go to the highest bidder. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to trade him after this season. They'll have a full season to see of they can replace him with this guy or need to draft another WR. Keeping Jefferson likely also means always keeping a good #2 on a rookie salary.

Just traded for Sam Howell. https://x.com/RapSheet/status/1916191721383252064

Ian Rapoport @RapSheet
The #Vikings are trading for QB Sam Howell, as the Seahawks and MIN swaps picks 142 and 172.

#139 was UGA Edge Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins

Ben Goessling @BenGoessling
The #Vikings are taking Georgia defensive tackle Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins with their first fifth-round pick. They’d hosted him on a top-30 visit, after he’d posted the fastest 10-yard split (1.69 seconds) among defensive tackles at the combine.

Ryan Grigson talking about Felton pointed out that he's a tough player. Came to Maryland and was a ST gunner. The toughness shows up once he catches the ball for YAC. He also talked about his 4.3 speed and said that shows up when he plays. So he's not just a track athlete. That's huge. I have no idea how this guy will turn out but there's not a lot of negatives.

Howell definitely has the sound of a last resort backup qb. They also could have grabbed Shedeur Sanders, but I think having such a high profile player lurking in the background when the starter (JJ) hasn't quite established himself yet can be a problem, where you start getting people calling for Shedeur after a clunky McCarthy game or two. So better to have a backup who is a clear backup.

Sanders now has 5 QBs taken ahead of him and a team traded down to grab a QB from the 5th round of the 2022 draft

Some guy named Dugger. No, wait. Diddy. Digger? Diggy? Diggs. DIGGS. That’s it!

Kwesi is cooking now. Howell is a good get. He has ability. Welcome to the latest entry into the O’Connell Quarterback Rehabilitation Center.

Ingram-Dawkins is a good choice for the fifth round. Tons of raw ability, but not much experience. Let Flores and Dixon mold him into something over the next couple of years.

Grigson said that Tyrion can play multiple positions in Flores scheme. That versatility is what they like. He has a great motor and is only 21 yo.

Agreed! Don't think they'd want to deal with everything (fair or not) with a backup QB, who doesn't have any NFL experience.
