I think we beat the Bears twice. Does that count?

Has nothing to do with talent and everything to do with scheme on defense. Sure there are some holes but nothing that can’t be overcome by putting guys in the right positions to succeed. Donatell was an absolute horror show that game. Went 3 quarters without bringing a lick of extra pressure or different look. Constantly rushing 4, constantly playing DBs a mile off, constantly showing them the same look over and over.

Don’t worry, your “luck” take still sounds just as dumb as it did 10 weeks ago

Might as well have just kneeled it down and conceded.

After all the hits Cousins took all year and how well he played he undid all of it on that single decision.
Maybe that was his version of a kneel down. That never should have been thrown but that route shouldn't have been run either unless it was used to pull the secondary up? Should have thrown it to JJ no matter how many guys where around him. But I'm not going to trash the guy for one stupid decision. Darrisaw cost us a 4th down conversion when he forgot the snap count. KJ let a ball bounce off his chest. He didn't undo it with me based on one play. He played well all year especially when you throw in the OL issues we had and lack of play makers and speed at WR.

What was I wrong about? I didn’t say this team was going to the Super Bowl did I?

As of now we have no runnning game. Our Oline is outmatched. They cant open any holes, and are terrible at screen passes.

You said luck had nothing to do with all our close wins. Lucky ran out in GB, we need skill and talent now. Hope you enjoyed your 13 wins of talented football play.

I've been referring to this team as Smoke and Mirrors all season.

The 5th highest scoring team in Minnesota's history, and the 6th most points given up ... and that is with 13 wins.
We scored 424 and allowed 427, last season the Vikes scored 425 and allowed 426 and were 8-9.

Winning the single score games made a five game swing in our record. Same team, with some luck at the end of games.

So damn frustrating.

The nfl is built on close wins. Does that mean every team that wins by 1 score is “lucky”? Starting to see how dumb that sounds? If they lost those games it’d be fair for me to say they were unlucky? I could’ve said that last year.

The defensive scheme that was employed allows teams to hang around. It’s soft, we don’t blitz, we’re predictable, we show the same look over and over, etc. That’s not nearly the players as it is the scheme. We were near dead last in the nfl in defense but nobody can sit there and tell me we were the 32nd most talent defense. Not even close.

Maybe have some sort of take other than just “they were lucky”. That’s like a 10 year olds argument. Regardless, I stand by what I say. It’s a dumb, weak argument

15-1 no super bowl
13-4 no super bowl

Early viking memories and current viking memories. Others in between as well. Viking seasons always end in a loss. *sigh*

Fire donatell. Koc should have never had a route short on final play even as an option. Kirk can't make that throw. There's no point. So frustrating.

Reset this roster. Let all the old defensive guys go. Just getting to the playoffs isn't a super bowl mentality.

You think Hunters strong suit is trying to cover a running back out of the backfield?
A lot of players wasn’t playing to their strengths. Donatell wasn’t going to change anything.
We do need some talent and DC change.

Our defense was uninspired and looked like a high school coach could have out schemed us. Offensively, way too many passes thrown short of the line of scrimmage. We need a new defensive coordinator, a few replacements in the secondary, and a Bunch of new linemen.
Our OL wasn't a wall either. I seen Bradbury and Ingram shoved into the backfield. I seen behind the LOS throws that were stuffed. Darrisaw cost us a 4th down conversion. That stuff defines suck. We got beat and the entire team didn't do enough for the win.

Exactly. Saw hunter multiple times tonight covering guys downfield. Like I said before, the problem is scheme more than talent. We have holes no doubt, never said there wasn’t. But there’s no reason with the players we have, we couldn’t be a middle of the road defense.

Agreed with everything except a bunch of new offensive lineman. Darrisaw and O’Neill are cornerstones. Cleveland was a top 10-15 last I knew. Bradbury I’m skeptical of but he’s also had a resurgence in this offense. Ingram has struggled but outside of that, I’m not really sure who you expect to get rid of
