Week 14: Vikings @ Lions predictions

Post by Foreman44 »

You can laugh at me if you wish on this..

I feel we should win.Lions finds ways to lose.. But I expect this to be a very tough game. We can claim a game 1 victory over Detroit. But IMO, Detroit likely gave us the win... Detroit’s coaches decision going for a long field goal, instead of punting. Likely cost them that game..... But yes we got the win in the win column...

Just glanced at a article looking like Vikings not favored. I didn’t read as I would believe we will be.

But I feel we better be prepared against Detroit. They are playing better football. I felt they outplayed us game 1,That loss will probably give them the hunger for revenge...

I think we are in for another nail biter.

I placed $100 on the Vikings getting 2.5 points.

This game feels very much like one of those weeks where the team will be looking 2 weeks ahead and assume they can beat the hapless Lions by just showing up. This kind of game can tell you something about the coach. Its really his job to keep them laser focused on THIS WEEKS opponent. If they are properly prepared, there is no way we should lose this game. If we just mail it in, its gonna be another unnecessary close game. The Lions have so many weak spots, the Vikes should have some very good schemes drawn up to tear the Lions to bits. If we come in and just play vanilla.....well, no excuse for that.

I just don't see that happening at all. The Vikings are getting no respect whatsoever by national media or even Vegas. When has a 10-2 team been underdogs to a 5-7 team? I think the Vikes will be amped and ready for this one. I expect a high scoring game and a nail biter. Deandre Swift appears to be back to his old self, which is scary. Chark too. Jamo doesn't scare me yet, coming off injury, but next season he'll probably be very good. The Lions offense is very strong. We need to outscore them, so full throttle on O. 38-35 Vikings.

Well, when you are 10-2 and every win has been by the skin of your teeth, you wont get a lot of confidence from the odds makers. The VIkes need to have some dominating, big margin wins before anyone other than their devoted fans will show much confidence in them. The only blow outs in this years Vike season has been loss not wins. Hopefully, the Vikes DEMOLISH the Lions and give us some of that confidence!! :smilevike:

To add Detroit more than likely gave us the first game. Maybe if they punted instead of going for that outrageous long field goal, we still could have pulled it out. Getting the ball back in great field position definitely helped...

Honestly, if the Vikings win every game from here on out by 1 point on a last-second field goal, but the last game they win is the Superbowl, I don't need a dominant performance from them.

I've seen several Vikings teams in the past that had plenty of dominant regular season wins and came up short. Dominance isn't the measuring stick - wins are. Just find a way. That's really all that matters in the end.

What would worry me isn't if the team continues to win close, but loses big again. Based on the remaining schedule, the Vikings should not get blown out by anyone. They might not win the rest, but they should be in a position to at the end.

Vikes look to get Darrisaw and Dantzler back. Both should make a big difference on their respective sides of the field.

The Lions offense is playing well. Will be another excellent test for the Vikings defense.

The Lions defense is still the Lions defense. Not a great unit and not on par with some of the defenses the Vikings have faced in recent weeks. So I hope to see the offense continue to roll and look for more consistency throughout all 4 quarters.

Not going to predict a score for this one, but I will say this - if the defense finds some consistency and starts to tighten up a bit, and the offense continues the strong play they've had over the last couple of weeks, the Vikings have a great chance of winning.

I'm still unsure if Darrisaw will be back. I would think Dantzler for sure. But I think they are treading lightly with Darrisaw because we 1000% need him come playoff time.

I think we win this in a close game. We should be able to run the ball which in turn will help the passing game. Bottom line the Lions don't have much on defense. On offense they have shown that they can score but also have shown they can't as the Pats shut them out. Against our bend but don't break scheme they will drive the ball on us and then things will get tougher as the field length shrinks. I see it 27-24 with a late FG block or some other off the wall play to fit our finding a way to win theme that has been happening all season.

I dont know what concussion rules in the NFL permit but I do know for young atheletes in high school, a third concussion in one season means you are out for the season. Darrisaw has 2 now....anyone know what the NFL limits are?

I don't think there are any limits. Or at least any I could find. I did find there are also no limits in NCAA as of 2017 anyway according to one article I found. It's left to the schools, basically. Some might think one is so severe they stop you from playing, some it was 3, some as many as 10.

I don't know what the limit is for the NFL but for me personally I'd probably call it a career after 2. All the money in the world isn't worth brain damage.
