Absolutely scary situation. Thank goodness he turned out to be okay and recovering. One can't imagine how badly this could have turned out.

Glad it wasn't something more serious. Glad he's OK and here's to a quick recovery.

Supposedly he's going to make a full recovery. I don't know the time frame.

Supposed to be released from the Hospital this week. Guessing that means he will have a one or two day stay. Fortunately it sounds that all the injuries were soft tissue, not involving organs or bones.

Hoping he has a speedy and full recovery.

I just did a Google search looking for any news about Jaylen's recovery. Nothing since this report from his mother on June 23rd almost a month old now.

After Minnesota Vikings rookie Jaylen Twyman was shot multiple times on Monday, his mother, Stephanie, shared encouraging news on his condition.A

“I’m hurt and I know that it can happen to anyone,” Stephanie Twyman told NBC4. “I want [people] to know that Jaylen is fine. He’s strong. He’s going to make a 100% recovery.”

Twyman was shot in Washington D.C. while he was visiting family in the area. Three other victims were shot as well and are also expected to recover. Stephanie Twyman explained that her son was able to survive the shooting due to the bullets only causing superficial exit wounds.

Jaylen Twyman, 21, was born in Washington D.C. and attended H.D. Woodson High School in Northeast, Washington. After a strong career in high school, Twyman joined the University of Pittsburgh football program. As a redshirt sophomore at Pitt, he notched 41 tackles and 10.5 sacks while starting all 13 games.

Less than two months ago, Twyman saw his NFL dreams come true as the Minnesota Vikings selected him in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. While Twyman will need time to recover from the injuries, he remains in good spirits and his mother expects him to be back on the football field soon.

“I’m feeling blessed. I’m feeling blessed that my son is alive. My son is well,” Stephanie Twyman said.

If anybody can find an update I'd love to see/hear it.

I see Twyman will be reporting to training camp this Sunday with the rest of the rookies. His agent did not give much for specifics, though there is some speculation he might start camp on the non football injury list.

I just read on PFT that he has been waived with a non football injury designation, to provide a roster space for Westbrook.
If not claimed we will retains his rights for next season as he will be on our non football injury list , and will not be able to play this season.

Makes sense. The Vikings need help at WR3/returner more than DT right now, plus Twyman needs time to recover physically, so this is a good move. Not sure if Twyman is going to make it through waivers but I suspect he will.

So much for ready to play in training camp. It's disappointing. I wish we could have dropped somebody else to make room for Westbrook.
