Was just going to say the same thing. Bucs, Jets and Browns all took tackles. Washington has lost all leverage. If nobody else steps in, the Skins either buck up and trade him to the Vikings or sit on him and continue to pay him to not play. It couldnt have worked out better so farVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 8:56 pm No competition left.
We have to be the huge favorite to trade for Williams now.

I think if we try to play hardball with them they will send him somewhere else out of spite. IMO don't overplay our hand.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:33 pmWas just going to say the same thing. Bucs, Jets and Browns all took tackles. Washington has lost all leverage. Re: Trent Williams
I agree but I'm not sure where they would send him if they have no other takers. By the looks of it, that's the case right now. It makes me wonder, when we saw all these tackles go, is that why we didnt reach on someone like Jones or Cleveland? Because we feel more confident we could land Williams. I would have to imagine we are going to at least inquire again about WilliamsVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Thu Apr 23, 2020 11:37 pmI think if we try to play hardball with them they will send him somewhere else out of spite. Re: Trent Williams
I agree. If nobody else jumps in, Washington doesn’t have a choice unless they are so dumb that they sit on his salary yet another year while he doesn’t play. But man at this point, cut your losses and move on Washington. You tried to play hardball and now 3 of the 4 teams inquiring took a tackle. You now have zero leverage to even play with. Either trade him to the Vikings or continue to look like the laughing stock of the league and pay him while he sits at homeVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:42 amI think we will do more than inquire. Remember how I said I’d run naked down the street if we landed lamb?
Given we landed Jefferson, Gladney, a 4th rounder, a 5th rounder and then we land Trent Williams before round 2 even starts, I’m back to running down the street naked lol.

Re: Trent Williams
But that’s another thing, we still have 12 more picks for a current total of 14. It’s like we haven’t even drafted yet given we started with 12. This just gives us more ammo in a Williams trade. And the plus side is, if we do trade a pick or picks away for Williams, it puts a minimal effect on our draft given the amount of picks we have.

We have so many picks left I wouldn't be shocked if we draft a QB.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 12:50 am But that’s another thing, we still have 12 more picks for a current total of 14. The focus will now turn to the Trent Williams situation. Apparently there are 3 teams still showing interest. Yeah, Minnesota remains a team to watch here. The Vikings have 12 more picks. Hard to imagine all of them making the roster. Room to move around. Unsure of other teams

Re: Trent Williams
The Vikings offer will be the best because we can give the pick plus a swap of LTs with Reiff.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:06 amI’m really interested to know who these teams areJohn Keim

Jets just drafted an OT. I really believe they are out of the running now. I heard that any reports the Eagles were interested were full of it.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:18 amJets and EaglesPondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:06 am

Yeah, I forgot that Jets drafted an offensive line but I am surprised Eagles did not since Eagles needed to protect Wentz since he gets hurt every yearVikingsVictorious wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 1:20 amJets just drafted an OT. Re: Trent Williams
Redskins recap:
Drafted Chase Young
On tap today:
Third round pick (66th)
More Trent Williams trade talk
(Note: The Vikings have 12 remaining picks; Minn had been talking to them a while and made an offer. Would be easy for them to get it done if the Vikes desire)

Re: Trent Williams
Might end up having to either rescind the franchise on Harris or cut Reiff in order to afford Williams...possibly both if we want to bring Griffen back too.

Re: Trent Williams
Glad to see that the rumor spread by Dan Patrick, that a first round pick was involved, was debunked.
What do you guys think will get it done? A 4th and Reiff?
