Ive been to Arrowhead a couple of times including this year’s game. Never had any issues other than very minor ribbing. I’d say one of the better fan bases for sure.RandyMoss84 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:28 pm I hope Mahomes chokes in the Superbowl, I can not stand the Chiefs and the fans

Re: 49ers Post Game
Just curious but what “great players” can we not afford on this team?VikingPaul73 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:36 pmExactly and that’s the problem. Cousins isn’t good enough for his contact so they cannot build the dominant OL and running game that’s required to compensate for cousins’ limitations . They need to pay up for OL DL and everywhere else, and draft a QB early every 3 years . Hopefully you can find a qb on rookie contract that can play well and win a SB.
Two ways to win in this salary cap era of the nfl:
1. Find an elite QB and pay him. Hopefully he can take you to the promised land
2. Find a good or even average qb on rookie contract - dominant D and good O and young qb is good enough to win big
How not to win
1. Pay an average QB like an elite QB, and live in salary cap hell because you can’t afford your great players with that QB contract

Re: 49ers Post Game
Just my two cents but if the Vikings signed Ryan tannehill, let’s say last offseason and cousins didn’t exist, I’d have an AWFULLY hard time seeing any fan being ok with that. And I’m not sure how many “clutch plays”. Tannehill is making. He threw for under 100 yards in each of his first two playoff games. Henry is just so dominant that nobody can stop him. And the more I watched that titans team, the more I realized that I don’t think our run blocking is nearly as good as some think. I just think dalvin cook is that elusive. Derrick Henry is not elusive at all but has giant gaps that open for holes. We didn’t have that very often.S197 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 4:13 pm If you’re eating up $30M+ a year you’re not going to have a spectacular everything else. YOU need to be spectacular and Cousins is not that on a consistent basis. Look at the Titans, similar run first old school offense. You only need a guy like Tannehill for that type of offense, put the rest of your resources everywhere else.
It’s opportunity cost. It’s not about Kirk vs whoever else. It’s is he worth that contract in this offense. And I don’t think he is. You can find a QB that can run play action for much cheaper. His contract should be given to a guy that can extend plays, make clutch plays, and carry a team when needed. It’s not worth giving it to a statue pocket passer that’s inconsistent in clutch games. Let him play out the last year of that boat anchor contract then decide. The biggest mistake they can do is extend him or Zimmer right now.
The Vikings need to pick an identity and stick with it. If this is a run first, strong defense strategy then you simply don’t pay a QB that type of money unless he’s a guy like Wilson who can make do with a shoddy o-line.
And as for the mobile QB argument. I mean, there are plenty of pocket passers in this league that are legitimate statues in the pocket and don’t extend plays. Brady, Brees, rivers, Ryan, Goff, Jimmy G, etc. But when you look at their successful years, did any of them have as bad of a pass blocking OL as cousins had this year? Not that I can remember. And they have all had huge contracts at one point or another.
And on a side note, Rodgers missed a wide open Allison on a 4 man rush and took a sack instead. Just saying.

Speaking of Rodgers he's not looking to good in this champ game. Big time pressure. He also fumbled. Pressure gets them all. He's shut out so far. It's only half time but I think he's done.

Well on the bright side, we looked better against SF than the Packers have so far. They can’t stop their run either. It appears we ran into a buzz saw last week.
I think our offseason focus should be improving the OL and getting younger on defense. I’m not ready to blow the whole thing up yet.

Re: 49ers Post Game
PHP, I've made two long posts about Cousins and the subject of mobility, and they're solid takes. He's not a statue, but he has no escapability. Not talking about designed rollouts ... he's good on those, great to his left. I'm talking about escaping pressure on a straight dropback. It's not all his fault, but it's the truth. It's something the Vikings have to account for. Yes, the line gives up too much pressure, but Kirk doesn't pick them up when they do fail.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:26 pmJust my two cents but if the Vikings signed Ryan tannehill, let’s say last offseason and cousins didn’t exist, I’d have an AWFULLY hard time seeing any fan being ok with that. Our division was a joke this year too. The Packers were HUGE posers.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 1:14 pm
No less the fact that Keenum had a much easier road especially given that our division that year was an absolute joke. But the two seasons were so drastically different it’s not even funny,

Re: 49ers Post Game
Brady is NOT a statue. Just because they aren't scrambling QB's doesn't mean they don't avoid pressure. All you have to do is take a side step or something, or move up a little. Cousins on the other hand is a true statue that rarely does that.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:26 pm

Re: 49ers Post Game
The Vikings look slow diggs cook aren't too bad for speed the defense is down right geriatric minus Kendrick's and hunter Need improvement across the board
Re: 49ers Post Game
Well Jimmy G who I'm not impressed with at all takes a ton of CAP space not a rookie deal and I think he's about to take his team to a Super Bowl. Having a dominate defense helps also. I'm not talking our 2017 D who many think was dominate but a D like the 49ers put together this year. Ask Rodgers about there D. They made him crumble also. He even fumbled. Threw a pick also. That's playing D. It's not over yet because there is still time left. More TOs may come.Pondering Her Percy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 7:12 pmJust curious but what “great players” can we not afford on this team?VikingPaul73 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 19, 2020 6:36 pm
