Sendejo a Viking again
So what does everyone think about the Vikings signing him today? How much difference do you think it will make for our defense?

Re: Sendejo a Viking again
I think the move makes sense, but not sure it will matter much. Sendejo is familiar with the system and coaches and should be pretty plug-and-play, but the Vikings starting safeties are well established at this point, so he'll see bit roles at best.

Re: Sendejo a Viking again
We’re missing the toughness factor on defense so this is a shot in the arm. Someone has to tackle Zeke on Sunday
Re: Sendejo a Viking again
I guess he can help. Harris after a tremendous start is slowing down. That 91 yard TD run he whiffed. That tackle needs to be made. Or at least slow the guy or make him change direction or stutter step. Anything but what he did. Hopefully he gets cut. Looks like safety is another need pick next year.

Re: Sendejo a Viking again
If we compare Andrew Sendejo to Marcus Epps, who was released to make room for Sendejo, this is one of the better in-season moves the Vikings have made in quite some time. He's more than plug-and-play. He's a smart football player. Jerry Gray and George Edwards have both raved about his preparation, his positioning, and his knack for finding the football. Yeah, he can be a little reckless, but he's smart enough and experienced enough to contribute right away. Lord knows, there has been something a little off with our defensive backfield this year. Picking up Sendejo can't hurt.
If we're looking at it long-term, that's a tricker question. Sendejo is 32. Not likely he'll be around much after this year. I have no idea what Epps was capable of because we rarely saw him on the field.

I assume somebody will get cut. I would assume a safety will get cut but I could be wrong. Maybe it will be another position.J. Marcus Epps was released.
And no, I don't think anybody in their right mind was hoping that Anthony Harris would get cut. It was one play. Harrison Smith missed, as well. Should we cut him?

Go ahead. I dare you.

I like this move. He played very well in Zims system when he was here. His head hunting drove me a little crazy sometimes but it seems he's a better fit than Epps at this point. We'll see. He may not make an impact, but he could.

Great move.
Maybe he can send Hughes or Mac to the hospital like he did his poor teammate in Philly.

Re: Sendejo a Viking again
I love it, of they can get him to stay so physical, but without the penalties and injuring his own teammates. I always lives his toughness, aggressiveness and his intelligence. It works for me. And no.. it very little learning needed. Dude knows the system, about all the players and staff and the facility. Kinda like just coming of IR in a different city
I just wanna die as a Super Bowl Champion Viking Fan!!
Re: Sendejo a Viking again
All layers missed. I know that. It started with the DL getting blown up, He was the last line of defense. He needs to make that stop. Should he be cut for it? No. But we just signed a safety. I didn't realize we were signing a guy to ride the pine. That's all.J. Kapp 11 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 7:15 pmMarcus Epps was released.

Re: Sendejo a Viking again
I doubt he rides the pine. Not that he'll start over Harris or Smith, but I'm guessing you'll see him on the field. Certainly more than Epps.CharVike wrote: ↑Wed Nov 06, 2019 8:55 pmAll layers missed. I know that. It started with the DL getting blown up, He was the last line of defense. He needs to make that stop. I don't like this at all
Yes, he's a good player who knows the system
But he is out of control and will probably injure a teammate if he gets a lot of snaps.
he is just completely reckless
