Outside of the Dallas game, they don't have much to hang their hat on since week 5. A few good halves vs the lions, yet they faltered both times when they had a lead late. Qb pressure way down, turnovers way down. You can make all the excuses they want. Haven't gotten it done for most of the season.
Spot on.

Anyone think we'll beat 5 INT matt Barkley and the bears next week?

You're making excuses. They may not be the problem but it's pure denial to watch their performances the last 2 weeks and conclude they aren't a problem. They've allowed something like 72 points in the last 2 games!
What excuses am I making Jim? I said they dominated Dallas. Last time I checked that's not an excuse and I'm saying the offense is the main problem.

Pick apart my posts all you want, but if anyone is worried about this defense going forward then I will sit here and continue to disagree. This offense/Lockes punting put them in terrible positions how many times today?? Those aren't excuses Jim. Those are facts. And those facts let this game get way out of hand

@tmscr

But somehow they were still top 3 in the league in every defensive category outside of run defense which they were 15th prior to the colts game. But somehow they "weren't getting it done most of the season". Like I said to Jim, those aren't "excuses". Stats are facts.

I'd like to see where they stand in past ten weeks.

Also, the fact is that the Vikings were in position to win both of those lions games, offensive issues not withstanding. The loss to them at home when we led with 20 seconds left was a death blow, as was allowing a 95 yard drive in the waning minutes on the road. Either one of those games could have made us a playoff team had we won.

I just heard on Red Zone that after the game that Zimmer wants Rhodes to shadow Nelson all day today "but the secondary refused..."

Great. I really didn't want to believe there were locker room problems with zimmer but it sounds as if there may be. And Newman has always been one of zimmer's biggest cheerleaders. Not good, not good.

While not defending the poor performance of he Defense in the first half of today's game, in the second half they held the Packers to 65 yards of total offense.
Vikings fan since Nov. 6, 1966. Annoying Packer fans since Nov. 7, 1966
