I'm frankly surprised that people are sticking up for Boone here. Yeah, I know his message was correct but do you guys really think that was an acceptable way to deliver it? Who exactly does Boone think he's talking to? The fans just cheered his team on for hours as they fought a tough and important battle against our main division rival. The fans pay his salary. The fans bought the stadium in the first place. And he thinks it's appropriate to bark orders at and swear at the fans?
Sorry, no. The fans deserve respect and "shut the #### up" is an unacceptable way for him to address us. It's not even acceptable to type it in these forums!
Boone could have easily shown some class and still delivered his message. Had he said "We appreciate your enthusiasm, but please remember this new stadium gets very noisy. It would help us a lot if you would be more attentive to how much noise you're making when we've got the ball." few would have complained. Instead he comes off as a ungrateful jerk whose harsh judgements about the fans mistakes make fans wonder why we should be any less harsh when looking at all of his.

Thanks for this post. That's exactly my take too. I want to like Boone, but if he's going to treat his supporters like this, he's in for a public image hit.
From someone who was there.
I'm not going to defend Boone but as others have pointed out, the fans were loud several times while the offense were on the field.
One of the craziest times were when we went for it on 4th down and the fans went absolutely nuts, it was as if it was the defense were trying to stop a 4th down. It was that loud!
As for the impact of the Packers fans.... Neglible, they were not that many and never really got any real noise going.

Thanks for the input.
I just wish Boone were more socially intelligent. He could convey his message with tact and it wouldn't be problematic at all.
I really really really don't understand this. Its coming across as super entitled sour grapes, next thing will be complaints that they didn't respond to your cleverly worded sign or that maybe they don't play harder when you scream louder...He's a mercenary. He was passionate and pissed that the performance wasn't better and it was a very obvious issue. I am actually pretty annoyed people were being so loud on our offensive drives.
Yeah I think Boone maybe liked the publicity he got for his Kap comments so he feels comfortable saying controversial things now. Dumb comment. It would be cool if it was Steve Hutchinson saying that after his 3rd year with us, but not brand new and not very good yet Alex Boone.

Thats a pretty harsh reaction. Fans do need to stfu when the offense is playing. it's not controversial and its an actual thing that impacts play ie the "12th" man. He wasnt the only one to complain just no one else said to be quiet.
Being at the game it wasn't even close to loud as he thinks it was during Vikings offensive possessions. Packers possessions on the other hand we crazy loud. Seems to me like he is making excuses and blaming the fans it the wrong Avenue to take IMO.

Shut the f*&% up.
This signature predicted the great 2014 - 2025 Vikings dynasty!

Wait... how do you know a lot of that noise on 4th down wasn't from Packers fans?
