Re: Bridgewater Down
Rapaport described injury as "gruesome", said players didn't want to look, "throwing up" even. Yikes. This is tragic.

Wow, how can that be non-contact? had he been playing on a broken leg?dead_poet wrote:Guys...

dead_poet wrote:Again, it doesn't matter. The SB is out of reach. Don't give up the future for an (ugly) patch now. Whoever we would trade for isn't the answer at QB and wouldn't be significant enough of an upgrade to get deep into the playoffs, much less SB. Trot Hill out there for 5 games then Heineke and move on and hope to God Teddy can play in 2017
I'm not sure the Super Bowl was in reach anyway but if it was, I'd say that largely due to the potential strength of the defense and the presence of Peterson so I don't think this puts it out of reach. The Vikings certainly can't afford to think that way.
It's a tragic situation for Bridgewater but from a purely practical point of view, the Vikes need a QB who can better a 17 TD, 12 turnover, 3400 yard season. I realize there are intangibles to consider so I'm simplifying the situation by just pointing to basic 2015 production numbers but that's basically the bottom line. That's what Bridgewater produced from the QB position in 2015 and it's not impossible that the Vikings could find a way to better that in 2016 without him. Let's see what happens.

I'm nauseous.
Re: Bridgewater Down
My choice may not be the most popular, but I would look into Buffalo.
They have Tyrod, EJ Mauel, and now Cardale Jones.
I am curious as to what their plans are.
Really want to see what teams are planning to do...

I've also thought about Glennon a little.
But now I'm fearful for Teddy to even make a full recovery.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Eyewitness says it was during team drills. Bridgewater under center, dropped back and then just fell and started yelling in pain.

Zimmer confirmed Teddy's injury was non contact

Re: Bridgewater Down
I should point out it could involve tibiofemoral joint too. I failed to mention that.DK Sweets wrote: Is this career threatening?
If it truly is a proximal tib-fib dislocation, could it be? Yes, if there was damage to the neuro-vascular supply about the fibular head. It is a rare injury.
I don't want to alarm anyone, because we don't know if that was truly what it was. It could be tibiofemoral or involve the patella.
I hope we find out soon. Like Zimmer said, it is really wrong of me to be poking into this. I am just going to have to leave Teddy be and keep him in my thoughts.
It is just a sad situation that I hate to see happen to anyone.

People saying no one was throwing up. Hard to trust anything on twitter.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Couple of things....
Prayers out to the kid Teddy. Also, to his family. Never want to see serious or career threatening injuries. Only hope that there's a chance that it's not career threatening and Teddy is able to continue doing what he loves to do.
Secondly, many of us have desired for quality QB competition and we never get it. Hopefully this is going to open up our GM mindset.

Re: Bridgewater Down
Trade AD and picks for a somewhat decent QB who can play for a year and be a quality backup for more?
