2016 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes, etc)
Mandatory Minicamp #1 notes
There's too much relevant information to post so bang on the link. It's a worthy read:

Floyd, Boone still out but Barr, Joseph doing individual work, Patterson getting work with the 1s (Jim!), Berger at LG for Boone (NOT Fusco), Smith at RT (unsurprising as Phil continued to recover), etc.

If the Patterson hype train hasn't left the station yet, it has now.
http://m.vikings.com/s/30836/378?itemUr ... 1124710362EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - During a pre-practice stretch on the first day of Vikings minicamp Tuesday, wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson caught Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer as he walked by.
"I'm going to get better today," Patterson told Zimmer.
Zimmer told Twin Cities media that Patterson's comment seems to reflect a honed-in mindset for the receiver heading into his fourth NFL season.
"He's not making mental errors - very, very few mental errors," Zimmer said of Patterson. "He's running the routes at the proper depth, he's lining up in the proper place. I don't know that it's ever been an issue with athletic ability with him, but maybe sometimes the focus."
Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater echoed Zimmer's sentiments on Patterson and said he's noticed the same focused mentality.
"Just from sitting back there throwing the ball to [Cordarrelle], he has looked good," Bridgewater said. "He's a guy that works extremely hard. Every day, he comes to work, and he has one mentality - that's to get better. We've all been seeing it.
"I can't sit up here and judge players - that's not my job," Bridgewater added. "But from just completing the football to him, throwing routes out there and just watching him detail his work, I've been pretty impressed."

"We'd like to have everybody out there, but it shouldn't be a big deal," Zimmer said. "He's a pretty smart guy, even though he went to Ohio State."

2016 Season General Comments (pressers, practice notes, etc)
Ravens' LT Eugene Monroe is on the block. I know he's dealt with some injuries lately but when healthy he's a stud (only 29) and we have exactly zero proven options at LT if Kalil gets hurt or is ineffective. I'd give up 6th/7th for him, even if that further muddies the o-line waters. His $6.5 million contract probably makes that unlikely though.

Came here to post the same thing, shame we paid Kalil all that money, no one will take that contract and I can't see them tying up another $6.5M on the line.

#Vikings defense was really on point today. Lots of interceptions and deflections in team drills. Jabari Price was locking down Treadwell.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. – After getting thrown into the fire for 16 games as a rookie last year, T.J. Clemmings might be preparing for a new role this season.

Floyd, Boone and Harris were observers once again. Barr semi-active. Ellison still rehabbing. No sign of LB Travis Lewis.

Wednesday's top plays
The most intriguing battle of Wednesday’s practice was between cornerback Xavier Rhodes and wide receiver Charles Johnson.
The two went back and forth throughout the 90-minute session. Rhodes stuck with Johnson down the sideline in 7-on-7 drills early in practice and later broke up a potential touchdown for Johnson in the end zone.
Rhodes broke up another pass late in practice before Johnson responded with a strong catch over the middle in the final minutes of the session.
Here are a few other highlights from Wednesday:
— Cornerback Jabari Price had a clean pass breakup against rookie wide receiver Laquon Treadwell over the middle and made an impressive diving catch along the sideline for an interception.
— Rookie linebacker Kentrell Brothers corralled an interception against Shaun Hill while in tight coverage against rookie tight end David Morgan. Brothers later knocked away a pass at the tail end of practice.
— Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater tossed a pair of touchdowns in red zone drills. Bridgewater first connected with wide receiver Stefon Diggs across the middle before he found Johnson in the right corner of the end zone.
— Wide receiver Adam Thielen made a diving catch across the middle on a pass from Bridgewater.
— Defensive end Everson Griffen had a lighthearted moment with Bridgewater midway through practice. Griffen would have had a likely sack against Bridgewater, who scrambled away. Griffen playfully gave chase to Bridgewater as the two shared a laugh.

He was cut. Sounds like the Giants are in the mix to sign him and the leaders in the clubhouse. He won't sign here.S197 wrote:Came here to post the same thing, shame we paid Kalil all that money, no one will take that contract and I can't see them tying up another $6.5M on the line.

I'm guessing Ohio State is known as a jock school .. not like Northwestern ...

Zimmer said this is the first time he's seen Xavier Rhodes consistently try to make plays on the ball, and the cornerback pulled in another interception in the red zone on Tuesday, leaping to take away a corner throw from Bridgewater that was intended for Thielen. "I think he’s starting to get the mentality of denying the ball from his guy, and this is the first time that I’ve really seen him go after the football since I’ve been here," Zimmer said. "There have been some plays where he really tries to intercept it, as opposed to just covering them."
