Bridgewater obviously has some chemistry with Diggs and Johnson. If Hill is forced into action, maybe Wallace will benefit. Hill played with Patterson in the preseason. Maybe he'd benefit from more reps as well if Hill started.

I think Tom and DK made a good point about Hill's mobility. On the other hand, Bridgewater has shown a tendency to hang onto the ball too long at times this year. Maybe Hill, being a veteran, will get it out of his hand quicker.

Of course, he may not need to play at all...

I wouldn't rush Bridgewater back. If there's any doubt, I'd sit him and make sure he's ready for GB. Any chance they'd put Heinecke in? He did look very good during preseason.

On another note, I read Floyd is back practicing today.

I doubt we'd see him unless Hill was hurt or really played poorly.

That's great news!

More good news for us Chicago area Vikes fans: this game will be broadcast here on FOX.

I'm assuming they opted for it over the Detroit/GB game because Detroit's been so bad. Maybe they see OAK vs. MN as a more interesting, competitive matchup. Whatever the reason, I'm happy!

No dice, Teddy's been cleared and is back at practice. Shaun Hill will have to take his TD skills back to the bench for another week..

There have been instances where the player has a relapse and symptoms appear later in the week (from what I've read). It's looking good so far though.

So glad I have an alternative for watching games here in Hawaii. Carolina vs Tennessee? I'd be punching walls if it weren't for Gamepass.

 Is it safe to assume they picked that game to broadcast because of Mariota?

Yes. I'm surprised because there are a lot of Raiders fans here in Hawaii.

that's because Teddy doesn't need to honestly. Our yardage is pretty close with our rush considered and our points are 21 and theirs 26 which is quite a jump in the rankings of points for but only a TD away however the interesting thing about the Raiders is their low 3rd down conversion rate ( I realize ours is much less but at less than 50% we will blitz like rabid dogs) . Hope we can attack that.

The Raiders are the one of the worst defensive teams in the NFL, surrendering 411.5 yards per game and more than 26 ppg. They've given up at least 355 yards in 7 of 8 games, with more than 400 yards 3 times, more than 490 yards twice, and a whopping 597 yards last week to the Steelers. They're particularly bad against the pass, ranking dead last at nearly 315 yards per game allowed. They're in the top 10 in rush defense, but opponents have the fourth-fewest attempts against them. This is not a good defense.

Amazingly enough, as bad as their defense has been, they're only 9th worst in points per game allowed. Defense around the league is pretty bad this year, which is one of the things I like most about our Vikings. Of the NFL's top 13 teams in fewest points allowed, only one (Seattle) would not be in the playoffs if they started today.

Offensively, the Raiders are a good passing team, ranking 8th. Derek Carr has been hot lately with 11 TDs in the past 3 games, although only the Jets' defense would scare anybody. They're 18th in rushing, with Latavius Murray ranking 6th with 630 yards. However, Murray is questionable for the Vikings game with a concussion.

Oakland is battling injuries, as are we. But we're getting Floyd back, and I've heard Kendricks is looking good. With Teddy and Newman looking like they'll be available, I like our chances.

I think our offense gets better against Oakland's horrible defense, and the Vikings' defense continues its streak of not giving up more than 23.

Vikings 28, Raiders 21.

Go ahead. I dare you.

if there is one thing that has remained true in the NFL over the years, its that a great defense is more reliable then a great offense. I like our odds. Neither team has a great offense and as Kapp points out...the Vikes D puts theirs to shame.

This will be a fascinating game to watch for me.
An up and coming pretty explosive Raiders offence, against an excellent, young and hungry Minny defense on the road.
And on the other side of the ball, a pretty average Oakland defense, against a steady eddie Viking offence. Both still in a transitional period.
Both teams strengths and weaknesses seem to complement each other. So it seems that its going to be yet another close one.
I feel were going to have to force a couple of turnovers to win this one on the road. Thats definately possible. Our secondary needs to be aggressive right from the off. Stick Rhodes on Cooper, man for man and let him know he isnt going to have it his way. I dont even mind a couple of P.I calls, as long as he doesnt get a chance to coast. We've defended talented receivers well already this year (except Jeffery), this stemmed from being aggressive in coverage.
I reckon we'll have a lot more success against their O-line this week than last. I know we were banged up last week, but i was surprised at how little we penetrated the supposedly poor Rams O-line (except Joseph of course).
AD should have a say this week too. Seeing how Williams dominated them last week, this supposedly good run D doesnt bother me at all.
AD has his first great outing of the year, goes for 150+ as we look to protect our Quarterback and manage the clock. Teddy's steady as usual, we pick Carr a couple of times and......
Vikes win a close one on the road 24-20
