Nov 1 Trade Deadline
Who would you like to see the Vikings make a move for and who would you like to see them shop?

Re: Nov 1 Trade Deadline
Well clearly they aren't interested in playing Patterson, which could actually hurt them and make a trade difficult. He would be about the only one I would think could get anything worthwhile in return. I don't think the Vikings are going to make any trade, unless they can somehow get a starting Offensive Lineman.fiestavike wrote:Who would you like to see the Vikings make a move for and who would you like to see them shop?

I know this won't be popular, but I would be all for trading AD for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Re: Nov 1 Trade Deadline
They might could get something for Chase Ford, who is a pretty good player but 4th on the TD depth chart...I pretty much agree with your assessment, just wonder if anyone has any ideas of who that Offensive Lineman or perhaps Safety could be. I'm looking for a guy in his 2nd contract on a team likely to be rebuilding next year (who might just want to get a headstart on the process). A guy like Joe Staley comes to mind, although his contract is probably prohibitive.PurpleMustReign wrote: Well clearly they aren't interested in playing Patterson, which could actually hurt them and make a trade difficult. That sounds too cheap to me, but for a fatter return (1st plus something else non-negligible), I'd pull the trigger on it. Doubt there would be any takers at that price, though. I suppose, as usual, the likeliest (FWTW) partner would be Dallas.akvikingsfan wrote:I know this won't be popular, but I would be all for trading AD for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.
I trust Spielman won't trade away any draft picks. No need to go win-now with the young squad he's got now.

Re: Nov 1 Trade Deadline
I think it wouldn't make much sense to trade away assets who are contributing right now. this team is in the playoff hunt. But I do think if a team has a bit of a Chicagoesque fire sale help at T or S sure could be useful, especially by Playoff time (allowing time to gel), should the team make it that far.Rieux wrote: That sounds too cheap to me, but for a fatter return (1st plus something else non-negligible), I'd pull the trigger on it. No.....
First of all, nobody is going to give up a pick that high for a 30 year old back and second, nobody is going to want to pick up his salary. He's third in the league in rushing yards and guys talk about trading him and complain about him

I'd be ok trading Peterson as well. McKinnon is actually more effective in the style of offense we want to run with Teddy. I just don't think we could get fair value in a trade.

No, Mckinnon is not going to be more effective in any scheme because he will never be as effective in general as Peterson.nfcnorthchamps25 wrote:I'd be ok trading Peterson as well. Re: Nov 1 Trade Deadline
So you're going to sit there and tell me that if Peterson wasnt on our team and McKinnon was getting all these carries he would be 3rd or better in the NFL in rushing?? Re: Nov 1 Trade Deadline
You hit the nail on the head. He's a thirty year old back. If we could get that kind of a deal for him I'd say do it. He's not what he was before. If Slick Ricky can swing it, I would be all behind it.Pondering Her Percy wrote:
