Which of these would be your guy at 11?

Cooper. I think he's the best of those 4 players and has the potential to be an impact player.

There is much waffling going on in my mind on who should we take. Cooper was the early favorite starting back in January. Waynes has been on the radar for just as long. But in recent weeks I have been entertaining the idea of drafting Bud Dupree or another DE to replace Robison. This draft could easily be a home run. Then again..... Not much longer to wait.

Scherff if he is there. Cooper if he is there. Betting we get Waynes. Everything depends on AD, and if we hopefully trade him, or if he decides to warm the pine on the sidelines.

I'd be looking at Scherff if I were you guys, Wayans would also be nice on the other side of the field as Xavier Rhodes.

I understand alot if you guys want Cooper, and that is understandable, but IMO, if you take a WR at 11, he better have rare physical abilities that dont come around often. WRs are a dime a dozen, and you can find them anywhere in the draft. I'd be looking at White if he was still on the board if I was you guys.

It's interesting to see so many discussions on here about people being happy with our WR group, yet half of you want to draft WR at #11. A lot of your reasoning may surround them being BPA at 11. I think we can all agree we will have 3 very solid WR out of the bunch we have now, however it shakes out. If there was a Calvin Johnson-type in this draft, I understand wanting to take him that early on. I'm just not certain any of these WR are slamdunkish enough to fill that mold. Cooper seems to be the surest best but will more that likely be gone already. Are you guys really satisfied spending that pick on White/Parker and adding them to the mix? Or even a 2nd round pick on one? It just seems there must be a better compromise of BPA vs. Need at #11 then a WR.

You are aware that Jennings is no longer on the team. I think/hope that Wallace is one but CP and CJ are questionable to say the very least. If Cooper is there, then rush the pick up to the podium.

WR seems like a crap shoot. Any real correlation between where a WR is drafted and total production? Wouldn't we be more likely to hit on a pick if we took another position?

Almost any pick is a "crap shoot" . Remembering how Kalil was a 10 year projected Pro Bowler. From what I have seen from Cooper and most experts agree, he is definitely projected as a blue chip, game changing, ball player.

There are always exceptions but as you can see if you look at last year's top WRs, there was definitely some correlation between being drafted in the first two rounds and production. I imagine the correlation would be similar in many other seasons.

Last year's top 10 wide receivers (from NFL.com):

Antonio Brown (R6, pick 195)
Demaryius Thomas (R1, pick 22)
Julio Jones (R1, pick 6)
Emmanuel Sanders (R3, pick 82)
Golden Tate (R2, pick 60)
Jordy Nelson (R2, pick 36)
Julian Edelman (R7, pick 232)
Odell Beckham (R1, pick 12)
Randall Cobb (R2, pick 64)
Dez Bryant (R1, pick 24)

4 of the top 10 were picked in round 1, and 7 of the 10 were picked in the first two rounds.

The next 5 were:

Alshon Jeffery (R2, pick 45)
Andre Johnson (R1, pick 3)
Jeremy Maclin (R1, pick 19)
Jarvis Landry (R2, pick 63)
Anquan Boldin (R2, pick 54)

All 5 were chosen in the first two rounds.

Calvin Johnson missed some time with injuries last year but is obviously still one of the league's best receivers and he was a first round pick too.

System and QB obviously play a role too so it's no coincidence that the WRs in that top 15 who weren't chosen in the first 2 rounds are playing with Ben Roethlisberger, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
