Does Wallace change the draft?

We'll more than likely pick a wr in the 2-4th now. But no way in the 1st.

You draft in the 1st a player that you believe can immediately start at his position. I think we target the Oline or MLB. And CB. Or that Randy Gregory kid all of our coaches etc seem to be so in love with, I forget what position he plays.

Also, still a good amount of time. I have a hard time believing Spielman will walk into the draft With just one 1st rd. Pick.

So maybe, if one of the top target WRs end up available at which ever #(s) we pick maybe we take him. But I seriously doubt it.

You don't sign a player like this for the kind of $ it takes without believing you are significantly contributing to the filling of a hole. So why draft one in the 1st with other very important holes open.

I don't fall for the "if Cooper falls to 11 you have to take him" idea one bit. If it does happen and we still have the 2 big holes in OL and MLB then you take the best OL or MLB everytime. You're don't leave holes like this in positions like these open in order to draft this years Justin Bieber. Unless youre a not very smart GM. It's just bad on a team level and on a different level as a GM it's just bad business.

I think the Wallace signing is similar to the Cassell signing last year. It was a need the Vikings had to address either in FA or the Draft, or both. By adding Wallace, they will not feel desperate to reach on someone that they shouldn't draft at a position. So, do I think it changes the 1st round. Yes.

I dont think this changes the draft at all. Wr is still a need, just not an immediate need. We can now draft a wr in the late 2nd or 3rd round and see if he becomes something special. I still think its BPA no matter what.

Unless a WR is absolutely the BPA in the first two rounds, I don't think the Vikings will draft one.

You're right. At this point the Vikings don't seem to have a lot of consistency among their WRs, fast or not.

I'm hoping that changes by the beginning of next season.

I am intrigued now by drafting a WR with the 1st rounder. Not Cooper either. It just hit me that Wallace and Kevin White would make for an interesting duo. Impetuous thought I know, I have been drafting Trae Waynes and Landon Collins with the simulator over and over but it intrigues me to have this scenario play out.

He played solidly down the stretch and Fusco will be back. There no reason to use TWO high picks when we have need at several positions.

Very good point. I think it's too fun for fans to drool over the sexy picks in the draft, but you hit the nail on the head. Giving Teddy weapons is useless if he doesn't have time to deliver them the ball. I think the guy from Iowa (Scherff?) is definitely on their radar.

I definitely agree there. My question to you is there a top 15 pick at OL to greatly improve the line right away? I see some guards later in the draft that could possibly work out in the 2nd and 3 rounds. I think that would improve the line, regardless of Yankey will or will not be to the team.
