Haven't seen too much of Paul Dawson, what do you like about him so much?

Just can't say enough good things about him - his instincts are phenomenal. He's explosive, excels at finding and bringing down the ball carrier. I'd concede that he's a bit undersized, but he takes on and sheds blocks well - if you throw on the tape, he's rarely taken out of a running play. Just always around the football. Fast to the hole - makes a ton of plays at or behind the line of scrimmage. Good in pass coverage as well.

He IS the best LB in this class (IMO).

Got a big night planned - gonna make a great meal and put in some film work in on some of these guys. Plan on really digging more into:

Shaq Thompson (LB/S, Washington)
Denzel Perryman (LB, Miami)
Michael Bennett (DL, Ohio State)
Breshad Perriman (WR, Central Florida)
Alvin "Bud" Dupree (LB, Kentucky)
Tawain Jones (LB, Michigan State)
Eric Kendricks (LB, UCLA)
Shaq Mason (G, Georgia Tech)

Very excited!

Let us know some good insight. I am glad to see the MLB position garnering some interest. No Bernardrick McKinney? I like em all. Draft one of them. Dawson, Kendricks, Perryman. ANY!!! For the love of football.

Im not sure why Shaq Thompson gets so much talk about an elite ILB. There are teams that actually want to see him as a safety. I dont like tweaners. Perryman, if we draft, Spikes if we go FA. I think Cole can do as good of a job at MLB as Shaq at this point. Shaq is just a freak of nature. We have 2 of theses (actually a few more) playing for the Vikings. CP and McKinnon. CP wont even be around if he doesnt figure things out. Soon. And we are already thinking of getting a replacement for Mck. if AD doesnt come back. Draft or buy the real deal. We have enough projects now.

Shaq is no LB IMO - he's very weak at the point of attack, and doesn't make a lot of plays when he's engaged by blockers. He could maybe be a decent WILL in time, but I see him as a safety - just curious, where have you seen people projecting him as a MIKE?

I'm working through the film now - I'll post thoughts on all these guys tomorrow.

Just for arguments sake - what do you think of Anthony Barr? How about Everson Griffen? I agree that in general I would prefer production over potential, but it's not like we never hit when we take a gamble.

I also will admit that it's a bit too early to declare Barr as a hit, but I also think it's a bit too early to declare McKinnon and CP as misses.

Dorial Green-Beckham just ran a unoffical time of 4.49. Id like to trade back and stock up a extra pick and grab this guy around 15-17.. Guy is a freak and at 6ft6 he has been compared to Calvin Johnson..

Anyone see Kevin White run? Logged a 4.35 - some team will fall in love with him and take him in the top 10.

I would rather pass on both of these guys now seeing how deep this wr class is and draft some defense with the first couple of picks. I think that it would serve the team better, but it would not be a red mark if they did draft either of these kids. Not these guys, but there could be some gems in round 3 and 4.

Can't argue with that take!

Btw, RBs are about to work out and run 40s. Not sure how I feel yet about drafting one (at least not early) but it's always fun to watch these guys run.

Hope David Cobb does it big!
