I like Charles Johnson. He's a smooth athlete. Hopefully he can continue to produce like last week.dead_poet wrote: Silver lining: we could see more of Charles Johnson. 6-foot-2, 215 pounds with 4.38 wheels.
From head coach Mike Pettine this summer: "I went on YouTube and watched his Grand Valley (State) highlights. They were impressive," said Pettine. "... It’s worth taking a peek at. He’s explosive. He’s a guy that is deceptively fast. He doesn’t look like he’s covering a lot of ground but he is. I think his catch radius is bigger than most. He’s got long arms and he’s got (big) hands."
Not expecting much but given our WR luck but it'd be nice if we already had a post-Jennings candidate. Teddy seemed to have a rapport with him last week.

Charles Johnson has had a nice showing. However, it is pretty disappointing when a guy who was picked up as a FA during the season outperforming our WRs that have been here.dead_poet wrote: Silver lining: we could see more of Charles Johnson. 6-foot-2, 215 pounds with 4.38 wheels.

It might be time to just gut some of our WRs and try again. I have always hoped for Jarius Wright to blossom, but the consistency just isn't there. Greg doesn't look like he used to. Patterson? I am willing to give him time, but jeez, what a disappointment he has been this year.

Agreed. I remember he was a sleeper fantasy candidate this past offseason. Rumors were going around that he had a shot at being the Browns #1 when Gordon was out and shockingly he ended up on the practice squad. A lot of analysts were somewhat blown away by thatdead_poet wrote: Silver lining: we could see more of Charles Johnson. 6-foot-2, 215 pounds with 4.38 wheels.

Johnson reminds me a little of what the Vikings wanted with Twill. Johnson and CP as wideouts, and Jennings in the slot, might work better then Wright. But ive never been big on Wright. Maybe Theiland will have to try out for the slot this week.

Zimmer said RT Phil Loadholt will get an MRI on an injured left shoulder. KR Cordarrelle Patterson suffered knee and ankle injuries on a big hit near the sideline, but was able to keep playing.

I hope he is ok. He gets a lot of flack but I think is not a bad lineman, and like others have pointed out,,he always hustles and helps the QB up if he allows a sack. I remember on some of Peterson 's runs he was blocking at end of the run too.Mothman wrote:http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nf ... /19458055/

Great....back to AsiataJerick McKinnon (back) said Friday he will not play in Week 13.
It's a major missed opportunity for McKinnon against a porous run defense. The Vikings will turn to some combination of Joe Banyard, Matt Asiata, and perhaps Ben Tate against the Panthers. Tate didn't play a snap last week, while Banyard played 30 and was effective on limited touches. Asiata is due back from his concussion and is the odds-on favorite to lead this backfield in playing time.

I'd prefer to see Banyard with a touch of Tate

Seems pretty clear to the hundreds of thousands of Vikings fans Banyard should get the call over Asiata. And probably Tate as well. Will Norv feel the same?

The advantage that Asiata has though is experience. Banyard has probably seen limited reps all year and Tate just got thereDemi wrote:Seems pretty clear to the hundreds of thousands of Vikings fans Banyard should get the call over Asiata. And probably Tate as well. Will Norv feel the same?

Ponder has more experience too. Banyard showed in his limited role last week his a superior player to Asiata in anything but short yardage. And Tate looked better on Browns than Asiata ever has. If Norv is more worried about experience in his offense then other factors, like the previous offensive coaching staffs, we're in trouble. Not just right now and the current situation, but if he's the OC for the next few years or more.Pondering Her Percy wrote: The advantage that Asiata has though is experience. Man has my opinion of him changed since he's been here. Now I see what some of those Charger and Browns fan were saying all along.

Tate has been there for a week and a half. There is a very good chance he doesn't know a lot of the playbook yet. Banyard will get time. I could see him splitting with Asiata.Demi wrote: Ponder has more experience too. Banyard showed in his limited role last week his a superior player to Asiata in anything but short yardage. Another one bites the dust on offense. McKinnon placed on IR.

It's his blocking that's keeping him off the field. Hope he improves cause I'd like to see more of Banyard too. Feel like he could break a couple with how quick he is.Demi wrote: Ponder has more experience too.
