I get what you're saying, but did Johnson allow 11 sacks?

I mean, that number is almost beyond belief. That's one a game. And half the time, we're left going, "Wait ... how is it only eleven?"

Rather than wondering whether Harris is as good as Kalil, maybe the more appropriate question is whether Harris could possibly be worse.

I would usually say give him till the end of the season, he's got all the attributes to be a great athlete and a great player. Whatever is in his head, needs to be sorted out.
However, he needs to be benched. Tell him to get his s*** together, and bring in some competition for next season. I wouldn't be surprised if the clear lack of motivation is down to the fact that he's got no one breathing down his neck.
Thats not the main reason he should be benched though. We've got a young QB, Who needs every chance to make plays and to get his confidence up. If he's got his LT just plain giving up on plays, what chance does he have?
And that's what really gets me riled about him, is that he just gives up way too quickly.

From reading the fan's remarks and looking at his twitter feed, he sounds like a bit of a jerk. Sort of glad Kalil knocked his hat off. I've got no time for someone who stands around for hours after a football game just so he can heckle players as they are leaving the stadium.

How can our line be so thin on backups? Even the least informed Viking fan knows Johnson is no good. And when this year started, the Vikings staff had to know having Kalil, who had beed struggling, next to Johnson, who is a horrible guard, why didn't they find a few good replacements? We literally have none on our roster. How can something like that happen? We have had 1 injury on our line, there were times when teams like the Cowboys had backup lineman men the entire game. Why have a bunch of scrub backups that you cant even trust to replace Kalil or Johnson? Does Davidson just close his eyes when they are watching film and see Teddy getting hit on just about every throwing play. If Teddy isn't already ruined, he will be by the end of the season. We need someone other then our current draft expert picking linemen and WR's for this draft and FA's.

Harris is going to be there at RT most likely now that Loadholt is done for the season. I don't really know what choice we have at LT.

If they really feel the need to bench Kalil, they could move Johnson out to tackle and play someone else at guard but I don't advocate that move.

Outside of the penalties, I thought he played fine yesterday. *ducks*

I understand, though, the penalties are part of it. But I didn't see any egregious plays where he was beat, which I can't recall saying about Kalil in a while.

I've never really heard of "good" replacements. Hence why they are replacements. There are guys that can come in and do an ok job at best but it's not like there are elite tackles and guards just sitting out there. Even good ones for that matter. I think Berger has done an ok job taking over at RG. Only good news is we might actually see Yankey activated now since we've taken so much of a hit. Would love to see what we have in him

Yeah, I kept my eye on him quite a bit and for most of the game he was fine. Then he committed a couple of his obligatory blunders (and then the penalties). It's so maddening to watch. I wonder if he was a second or third-rounder if we'd all be this frustrated with him. I still wonder what's going on with his knee. If memory serves there was quite a bit of secrecy around the surgery and I'm starting to think it may have been microfracture or something of that nature. I seem to believe it was all brushed under the table. But I have no idea if that's contributing to his, at times, abysmal technique.

I'm firmly in the camp that thinks we should look long and hard about using a first or second-round selection next year on an offensive tackle. I was all about giving Kalil another year to see if he could right the ship. It's becoming pretty clear that it's not going the right direction. He may not be cut out for the NFL physically or mentally.

I get it that reporters have a job to do. I used to be one.

But for crying out loud, when a guy answers the question, stop asking him to repeat it. If he doesn't want to tell you what the fan said to provoke him, respect that. Don't keep pushing him to make things worse by getting into a pissing contest in the media.

In many ways, I feel for athletes. If you or I have a bad day at work, we don't have 27 reporters asking us about it. I know the life they've chosen makes them public figures, and they derive plenty of privileges from it, but there's a line.

Probably why I'm not a sports journalist anymore. Not "hard-nosed" enough.

There was also the strip when Teddy brought ball down that he almost gave up.

PA still beating the "Watched 50 plays again and he was solid on 47 of them". We all watch football here. How often does an offensive tackle really show up? Penalties, getting dominated, etc? Seems to me most offensive linemen you don't notice *at all* because on 50 of 50 plays they're doing their job well enough to not get noticed.

I yelled "dumbass!" at the TV a lot on Sunday due to this man. Dumb to me too since they can't hear me but jeez. He's playing like crap and I seriously question his long-term value at LT right now. I'm sure I'm not alone.

yeah I think he needs to spend the off season with a sports shrink, for sure..

He seems out of sync; especially compared to his rookie year.

Would Kalil make a good guard?

He has the build and size where it doesn't seem unreasonable, correct?
