Can't Say I'm Surprised - Good Game Vikings

Post by PrimeTime »

First off congrats on the win and getting back to .500. I called 300+ Yards and 3 TDs for Bridgewater. Close enough. LOL. Every time we play a rookie QB he lights us up. Mike Glennon did it last year. Hopefully Bridgewater is okay, I heard it was nothing serious?

Falcons Defense continues to show how pathetic they are sadly. No disrespect to the Vikings but 550+ Yards and 41 Points should not even happen vs the Broncos, let alone to you guys missing AP.

Sadly we allowed the same plays to beat us for 60 minutes. Slants, Crossing routes, RB/WR screens in the passing game. Read Option up the middle in the running game. It worked...All...Game...Long. Either the Falcons coaches are blind and don't make adjustments or our defense is just that terrible. Asiata, McKinnon, Wright...Just about every Vikings skill player had a career day vs us. LOL.

Overall i think the game changed direction on 2 plays. 1st play of the 4th Quarter we have the ball in decent field position on 3rd down and Ryan misses a throw to a wide open Julio Jones on the sideline for a 1st down.

The next drive we are slowly moving the ball, 3rd down and no one picks up Anthony Barr on the stunt and he has a clean path to Matt Ryan for a sack.

2 Drives ended in the 4th Quarter that could have been drives that lead to points. And of course since we have a high school level defense your offense walked down the field almost everytime they touched the ball and scored.

Hell even when Ponder came in and we KNEW you were running the ball 3 times, We still let you get into FG position to end the game with a 10 point lead with only a few minutes remaining. Any somewhat decent defenses stops the other team and gives the offense the ball back with a couple minutes, 3 timeouts and only down 7. Not in Atlanta.

To say this Atlanta team is frustrating to watch would be an understatement. Mike Smith's time in Atlanta is running short. You cannot be a defensive minded coach and have the worst defense in the NFL. It makes no sense.

Good luck in the future fellas in that very tough division. Luckily for us, the NFC South took a nap this week so we didn't get hurt too much by this loss.

The Barr play was tough to diagnose, it wasn't a straight blitz, he feigned coverage then came late. Tough for an oline, especially a decimated one, to pick that up. Ryan's miss was big and also the sure INT drop by your safety. Clearly your offense is okay, especially if your line can get healthy. Defense there are certainly issues and I think it starts up front with stopping the run and getting pressure on the QB.

All in all, it was a good game. Thanks for stopping by and being a good representation of Atlanta's fan base.

If it makes you feel better, that wasn't actually a career day for Asiata. He had a 3 TD game last season with over 100 subbing for a banged up Adrian.

Yea, What made it worse was that we had 3 O-Lineman go down this game. Our Starting LG, C and RT. 2 of the 3 seem to be serious and possibly season ending. :wallbang: We had already lost our starting LT all season during preseason so this is just getting worse and worse.

The injuries got so bad up front, On that Anthony Barr sack Levine Toilolo was playing RT...Thats our starting TE fyi. :wallbang:

From what I am hearing with all those injuries up front it pretty much forced our O-Line to go max protect shortly after we went up 28-27 with us playing our TE at RT and our backup TE staying on the line and helping him.

To top that off we probably lost our best Defensive player William Moore for the year and his backup is also hurt. looks like the same injury bug that hit this team in 2013 is back in 2014.

There was a span there where it felt like a falcon was going down on every other play. Thats a tough break. I hope you guys don't lose anyone else this year. The good news is that Mike Tice is an incredible Line coach, so hopefully he can keep you guys firing on all cylinders. Please make sure to beat the bears, lions and packers for us! Thanks.
