"He came into the huddle for the first snap chewing gum and smiling" "His composure and confidence calms the entire offense down" "We should win every game with him back there at quarterback" - John Sullivan
"He's going to do a tremendous job. This is what he's been waiting for and he's going to take full advantage of it" - Matt Cassel
"He's ready. Honestly...I think he was ready the day he walked in here" - Mike Zimmer
"He's going to be a different challenge to game plan against, that's for sure" - Mike Smith
He's already getting praises, his offense is extremely comfortable with him in there, and his poise and confidence radiates throughout the entire offense. If he can keep the offense calm and playing loose, we're going to score a lot of points. Asiata is set for a breakout game vs. the Atlanta run defense I feel, and Patterson/Jennings are going to have some deeps shots and big days when Atlanta brings their cover-0 blitzes. I'm excited for this change (although I hate seeing Cassel go down like he did), and I expect big things from him. I don't think he's just another rookie that is talked highly of and can't produce (*cough* Manziel *cough*).
Its time for him to do what he was brought in to do (though not this quickly) and step up and become the new face of our franchise. The team is his with Peterson out of the mix. Its up to him to stay calm and make the plays that he's proven he can make. I think he's shown that he can make the transition into the NFL and stay cool under pressure and stay in the pocket until the last second to deliver the ball. And if the pocket collapses, the defenses better not leave him an opening to get out, or they've just given up a first down. I believe he can step in and be the spark this team needs so badly right now to turn around the way our offense has been performing. Call me overly optimistic, but I know I'm far from alone in my beliefs. I'm not calling it, but I wouldn't be overly surprised to see him come in and set NFL records for most passing yards and touchdown passes for a rookie making his first start.
Its exciting for this new era of Vikings football. Bridgewater, Patterson, Rudolph, Jennings, Robison, Barr...those are the faces I'm looking forward to seeing plastered around the outside of our new kingdom!

We all are just WAITING for Jerrick to do what we believe he can..
