It was against New England and New Orleans, two of the best teams in the NFL over the past several years! We wouldn't have won those games even if we had adrian peterson playing in both of those games.
That's what I keep telling people who are overreacting about this. How many teams in the NFL would be aces facing Pats / Taints back to back, the latter being Taints home opener in an 0-2 hole.

While we are scuffling right now, we have lost to very good teams while trying to completely rejigger an offense that lost the player it is built around. There is a bit of forging by fire occurring at the moment, and it remains to be seen how the team will emerge on the other side. I won't be surprised if we are 6-10, but 10-6 isn't impossible. What's going to be very important is how we handle the divisional games this year. I feel like we have the best defense in the North (and increasingly so through the course of the season). If we can find an offensive identity this season could still turn out to be pretty special. I hope we can take care of business this weekend and get the win.

It's a passing league. In that sense, it's about time we got with the program. But losing two probowl players - that's tough to get past. I am thinking 6-10 now, not because they are a 6-10 team, but because the injuries, schedule, and psychic damage will take a huge toll.

If we can get through the Lions game 3-3, I say we're still 10-6... If we end up losing to Atl, GB and Det. 6-10
