Teddy Bridgewater wasn't fazed at all from the pressure last night. I was awed by his ability to continue to hang in under pressure.

Has Teddy taken a real NFL hit yet? Not to take anything away from his performance but I don't think he has. The real test will be how he stands in the pocket after getting his bell rung a couple times.

He was sacked against OAK. I don't think his supposed frailty is such an issue as it's made out to be. He has a real knack for sensing and adapting to pressure. I think it's one of his biggest strengths.

I'm not concerned about his supposed frailty, I just think you have to get clobbered a few times (I saw that sack, and it was just a vanilla sack not a crunching blow) before you know how he will behave under pressure. From all accounts it didn't faze him in college, so hopefully it faze him in NFL either. But it is just possible he might be a little less cool after some 300 lb thug mugs him a couple times.

That's kinda the point though from I what I've seen of him in college and now this preseason. It's rare that he gets hit because he knows how to read a defense and he gets rid of the ball quickly. Yesterday there was a play in particular where the defense was breathing down his neck and he was as poised as I've seen from a rookie. A lot of vets aren't even that calm under pressure. You can't teach that.

He was sacked last night and took a couple of hits on blitzes. Nothing like Favre vs NO or anything but he didn't leave untouched either. He's can be pretty elusive too, which should help, the pass to Reisner near the end, a lot of QB's would have been sacked in that situation.

I re-watched the last drive, and the Cardinals sent at least 5 guys (a blitz) every play. I didn't keep exact count, but it seemed 6, 7, and maybe 8 once came on all the other plays. And still Teddy hung in there. No happy feet on that guy. Frankly, I don't care which "string" of defenders is coming at you with 7 - it's going to be tough to get time to pass. If your second string line and second string QB can chew them up with the kind of consistency we saw yesterday, it's cause for celebration.

I don't know if this qualifies as an NFL hit. The hitter is in the NFL, so it probably does. He didn't come out of the game after this one, and marched down the field for a TD.

if we can survive the gauntlet part of our schedule out of the gate, who knows maybe we'll surprise some teams. expectations really aren't all that high and cassel looks like he did the year he led the chief's to the playoffs (and now he has a ton more weapons). i can see him having a good year; better than expected.

After that hit he took over the game versus the very favored Florida team.

Teddy is spry. I'd be surprised if he tips the scales at much over 200lbs, but he's like a young willow bough: he bends.
