Hopefully he'll work out for SF as well as Karl Paymah did when they "snagged him" from us... (although technically it was Denver that actually wasted their 3rd round pick on him - we just picked him up during his meandering journey out of the NFL)
How hard can it be to teach a guy to put his arms up? Hey Chris, if you've followed the guy to the end zone just put your arms up! That would be the time to do it!

You'd think it would be easy wouldn't you?

One the first one, I am dumbfounded why it didn't occur to him to play the ball and put his hands up to catch it. He's clearly looking at the ball for most of the route.

Does he think it's going out of bounds? That's the only explanation I can think of...

To me it looks like he's playing the ball to be overthrown and he's (trying to) keeping the receiver from being able (what he believes) to catch the ball. If you watch his arms, he has then extended slightly horizontally to keep the receiver from going around him to make the catch. (Obviously, the receiver didn't need to go around him to do that).

Most plays he IS looking right at the ball but for some reason turns his head away from the ball as it gets closer and allows the WR to make a play over him. Sometimes it makes me wonder if he was just doing that all on purpose so he could get the opportunity to play for another team. I mean he's usually in perfect position, eyes right on the ball, but doesn't even attempt to defend it. Just seems strange to me.
He's looking like a clown at #84 too. Can't get into position, can't knock the ball out, and can't knock Boykin out of bounds.
We should bet on how many of the top 100 plays will be against Cook. He's got 2 against him so far with 60 plays still to be revealed. And you know the Alshon Jeffery play will be up there somewhere too, so that'll at least be 3. I'll say 5 of the top 100 plays will end up being against Cook.

He was pretty dang good in press though.
I agree. I would even take Robinson over the the big Corner that Cook was supposed to be. I even think we do more bump and run now, and I would still take Robinson (who I really don't like). On some of those plays, and the ones where he blew coverage or was b@tching out safeties, he looked like he wasn't even taught to play the position.
