Because "average" running backs always produce very well with Manning at the helm (see Addai: Joseph).

In 2013 he was tied for second in rushing TDs, was top-12 in rushing yards (despite having significantly fewer carries than the guys ahead of him), a 4.3 YPC and caught 60 passes for another 548 yards. I thought he had a solid season. Hard to gauge 2012 only playing 8 games.

I agree, to an extent. It's still easier on your offense if you have a good one. Put Daniel Manning, Michael Cox, Lance Dunbar or other equivalent guys on the Seahawks and do they win the Super Bowl? Do the 49ers even reach the post season?
