JFB "tore it up" today and all of the talking heads are touting him to maybe move up to the 1st choice in the draft and certainly the first QB to be taken. I want this kid in Purple
Just wanted to update anyone who didn't have a chance to catch Manziels Pro Day. Vikings staff in attendance were GM Rick Spielman, HC Mike Zimmer, OC Norv Turner, and QB coach Scott Turner. Manziel completed all but 3 passe - 1 drop, 1 under throw, and 1 late throw caught out of bounds. Didn't throw the greatest out routes i've seen but everything else was about perfect, especially his deep balls. Vikings staff was on the sideline directly at the line of scrimmage, which was the best seat in the house. Mike Zimmer spent most of the workout speaking with Kevin Sumlin likely getting info on any character concers the vikings have and getting an idea of Manziels personality and locker room dynamics. After the workout had finished the first person Johnny spoke with was Vikings QB coach Scott Turner for a brief time. Overall it was a great performance that sadly for me seems to have put him out of our range (barring trading up, which i don't think would be smart). Lucky for us the former consensus #1 QB Teddy Bridewater will likely be there for a consolation prize.

He also wore a helmet and shoulderpads. I've never seen anyone do that before.
I know there's too much emphasis on pro days, but after this he's the top QB in the draft. He dominated. There's no way he's falling to us now.

Thanks for sharing that, it was a great read. I think one of the biggest qualities about leadership is being able to swallow your ego and surround yourself with people who are smarter than you in certain aspects. No one can be the best at everything, I like that Zimmer is willing to learn and let someone else take the reigns a little. I think we finally have a team here.
Uggg, I've wanted Manziel bad for months now, was hoping he'd be there at 8 so we get the best player like AD at #7. Now with the most impressive pro day and all that I think it's gonna be tough. Hope we don't get stuck with Bridgewater.

I don't want Bridgewater either. Something nags failure about him to me.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.
If Manziel drops to us it will be a blessing. I feel like a lot of people criticize him for his off the field stuff... What college kid doesnt do the stuff he does? JFB is a fierce competitor and to have him on the Vikes would be awesome.

Totally agree
Do not mistake KINDNESS for WEAKNESS!
Best to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool rather than open it and remove all doubt.
I would bet a donut and a cup of coffee that Manziel will be there at #8. If he is not on the board when the Vikings are on the clock at #8 it will be because an owner with a higher pick has ordered the GM to select Manziel.
Texas A&M QB Johnn Manziel will have dinner with the Vikings on Thursday.
Manziel will then meet with the Vikings again on Friday morning. Head coach Mike Zimmer, OC Norv Turner and GM Rick Spielman will all be in attendance at the dinner following Manziel's pro day workout. The Vikings have the No. 8 pick in the draft. A trade up might be necessary. Source: NFL CFB on Twitter
