By your powers combined, I am, Captain Average Guard!80 PurplePride 84 wrote: Maybe we could put them all together and make one competent starting G.
with Patterson I dont think we could use DeSean. Plus do we want that type of player in the locker room that the Vikings are trying to build at the moment.Purplemania wrote:DeSean Jackson released, on account of gang related news??? Wow.
Riley Cooper gets a wrist slap for publicly dropping an N bomb, and D-Jax gets released because of "alleged" gang affiliation. Sounds a little sketchy. The fact that he wasnt traded was a little strange as well, to get nothing in return for a bigtime playmaker seems weird. You could make the argument nobody would want to absorb his high (9 mil??) cap hit, but I can see him signing a short term deal around that 7-8 mil mark which isnt far off.DeSean Jackson released, on account of gang related news??? I don't see what's sketchy, you don't go to jail for using a derogative word. You can go to jail for drugs, violence, and many other things typically associated with gangs.AP_AD28 wrote: Riley Cooper gets a wrist slap for publicly dropping an N bomb, and D-Jax gets released because of "alleged" gang affiliation. Thats a good point. As far as the team's image goes, neither of them is beneficial, and D-Jax involvment was only speculated (as far as we know). I dont see why not only keeping the lesser skilled of the 2, but also signing him to a big extention makes sense for a team who seems so concerned about their image.I don't see what's sketchy, you don't go to jail for using a derogative word. I'm a firm believer that a business should be able to fire/release/cut anyone for any reason. It's their business, and if it turns out to be inaccurate then that's their problem. Just like it's their problem if they keep someone who causes a PR problem, a personal conflict, or anything else. It's all just business.S197 wrote: I don't see what's sketchy, you don't go to jail for using a derogative word. You can fire someone for _any_ reason that isn't expressly illegal under either federal or state law. Discrimination against gender race, religion, disability, age (over 40, IIRC) are all protected by federal law. Yes, you could be fired if the boss doesn't like your hair style.Purple bruise wrote:So an employee is Guilty until proven Innocent pretty much. Wow, I would not want my family, my friends, or me to be working for one of your companies that can willy nilly fire you for any reason that they deem is right and if they are proven wrong then it is at that point their problem to deal with.
So if I am a great, reliable, loyal employee for your company (folowing your logic), I COULD BE FIRED/RELEASED/OR CUT for any reason. Dude that is why there are labor laws, employee rights monitored and regulated by the US Department of Labor.
If you have a job can your boss fire you because he does not like your religion, race, expressing your constitutional righ to free speech, hair style etc.?? Pretty ridiculous
itd be tough to see him making it even a week or 2. wouldnt want him on the team anyway....too much negative attention, and we have quite a bit invested in the position already I would say. Wouldnt mind seeing a late draft pick used on a receiver though.it be cool he he'd stay availbale after the draft or until we get our qb situation figured out
