How should they be held accountable by the same league that pays them to make these biased calls?Husker Vike wrote:Can pass interference call be challenged? was watching end of Browns vs Pats game and Browns were called for PI,announcers both said it was a terrible call, cost Cleveland the game. the refs need to be held accountable and should be fined just like everyone else.

I agree the refs need to start being held accountable. They should be fined, suspended, and forced to have post game pressers.Husker Vike wrote:Can pass interference call be challenged? was watching end of Browns vs Pats game and Browns were called for PI,announcers both said it was a terrible call, cost Cleveland the game. the refs need to be held accountable and should be fined just like everyone else.

Re: RIGGED
No ref has ever been fined for a bad call, they just get a slap on the wrist and told don't do it again.Orion wrote: How should they be held accountable by the same league that pays them to make these biased calls?

Re: RIGGED
A lot of these shenanigans would be ended if defensive contact was 5 yards yet not automatic first down and pass interference was a
15 yard penalty and not automatic first down.
But I'm not going to hold my breath for something that would make it easier on defenses but harder for a ref to rig a game.

Re: RIGGED
I agree the college rule of 15 yd penalty would be better than a spot foul,i wonder how many game outcomes are due to the dreaded ball placed at the 1 yard line rule the NFL uses now?

Re: RIGGED
That is an egregious one and obvious way to rig a game.Husker Vike wrote:I agree the college rule of 15 yd penalty would be better than a spot foul,i wonder how many game outcomes are due to the dreaded ball placed at the 1 yard line rule the NFL uses now?
"It takes too many people to rig a game!"
Takes what, 1 ref?

Re: RIGGED
Between this game, the NE game, the Cincy game, the NFL is going to have a tough week.
They need to suspend all of the refs in these games. I wish I could suck at my job as much as the refs do and still get to keep it.

Re: RIGGED
No. The league is telling the refs to behave like this. Organized crime is telling the refs to behave like this.
Firing "the refs" is meaningless.
How many phantom holding penalties and phantom pass interference penalties can one man take?
The Greenway pass interference before the ball was in the air...
At some point you just have to say enough.
I've stopped watching the NBA and boxing. Its dirty. I'm not going to get emotionally and financially invested in a dirty product.

Rigged? It's debatable, and we all already lean one way or the other.
One of these days I'll learn how to post a link. At this moment, it's not working.

Re: RIGGED
That's so funny. Me and my dad were saying all game long that the ref had money on the Ravens. I mean seeing the review of Gerhart from my couch, yet the refs couldn't make the right call? And what was that BS call on pattersons run? And did you see that smirk the ref gave when he confirmed the final TD? Unbelievable!
Re: RIGGED
Those were the replacement refs. That was just plain incompetence.acousticrock wrote:Who officiated the game last year against the other Harbaugh where the refs gave the 49ers like 4 challenges and 5 timeouts in one half?
Was it the same crew?

Re: RIGGED
I'm not one to buy into conspiracy theories and things like that, but you seriously gotta wonder after today's game. No, scratch that, I started wondering after the '09 NFCCG, but today my mind is just blown by all the bad calls. The Gerhart fumble not getting over turned? Come on, that's just insane. Refs were considered blind before the game implemented slow mo instant replay, and yet they still can't see the obvious in a lot of cases.

Re: RIGGED
This would just make things worse. "Hey it's third and 20, so if anyone gets past you just tackle them because it'll still be third down." "Oh crap Calvin Johnson just beat me and is 40 yards downfield, let me just tackle him and eat the penalty."Hunter Morrow wrote:A lot of these shenanigans would be ended if defensive contact was 5 yards yet not automatic first down and pass interference was a

Re: RIGGED
There were missed calls all over. Including plenty that benefited the Vikings. From missed PI to holds...come on now...
