Re: Vikings @ Seahawks Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 11
Ponder's mechanics are so horrific. When a QB leaves his feet like he did there, he has nothing to push off on. I see him throwing with one foot off the ground, falling backwards as he throws, actually throwing with his back leg up and a little hop on his front foot.
It's no wonder why his accuracy sucks. He is a panicked little chihuahua back there, and an uber-conservative one at that.

We were running it just fine in the drive before the last one. The drive stalled when we let Capt. Noodle-Arm-****-for-Brains attempt some short passes.

Moving left and throwing right, very bad mechanics.VikingLord wrote:Ponder's mechanics are so horrific. When a QB leaves his feet like he did there, he has nothing to push off on. Re: Vikings @ Seahawks Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 11
I just don't get Ponder.
He starts the game 9 for 11. He's averaging 10+ yards per attempt. He looks almost like a QB.
Then, instead of gaining confidence and getting better, he implodes. I mean, I'll be very surprised if he completes another pass beyond the LOS this game.
I've never seen anything like it. He's scared. Three years in the league, and he's scared.

Go ahead. I dare you.
Underestimate this man.

He wouldn't amount to anything if we had drafted him.Purplemania wrote:What I'd kill to have a guy like Wilson as our QB.

Watch more tape, he's our guy!

We need a blocking scheme where we knock the living daylights out of Ponder when he tries to roll out to his left. Call it "Special Protection", for our "Special" QBme4get wrote: Moving left and throwing right, very bad mechanics.

Re: Vikings @ Seahawks Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 11
Only need to do that if the scouts have no clue how to evaluate talent (both rookie and vet FA). If Spielman knows he can't evaluate QB talent (which he should know by now), time to hire someone who does.Purplemania wrote: Someone sarcastically suggested we have an all QB draft with our picks next season to ensure we grab the right guy![]()
well...
Re: Vikings @ Seahawks Game Day Discussion Thread -- Week 11
Performance in practice doesn't matter, in a game it does, and Ponder is not performing.S197 wrote:Watch more tape, he's our guy!

A massive campaign should be aimed at Zigi to clean house with this coaching staff.
A successful coach needs a patient wife, loyal dog, and great quarterback - and not necessarily in that order.

Some team will give him a contract. Hell, some team gave Freeman a contract after he failed with TBAdrianpeterson28mvp wrote:Hope Ponder didn't get too used to the NFL lifestyle, his wife will be paying the bills from now on.
