Hey! It's not Tuesday so it's not time to tell Ponder he's injured yet.

Some one mentioned 10 days, can't remember who. Just in time for Seattle.

Injury questions coming out of college.

Has a good game against GB after riding AD, gets hurt. Misses playoff game.

Now this game he has a solid half, gets hurt...Cassel has to finish it (and not lose it) and now Ponder hurt again.

Let's hope the front office isn't as stupid as they've already proven they are. (Or at least let's hope Ownership isn't as...)

We're screwed... :wallbang:

This is what bought Ponder all the faith he got this year, and it happens again. Why are we cursed with this nonsense!

Thank you for elaborating. It is frustrating, but I can't blame the guy for putting his body on the line for his team. One week he's a wuss, and the next he's trying too hard? It was a good effort and an unfortunate injury. Nothing more, nothing less.

That was Ponder who said 10 days. Everything I could find says 4-16 weeks for a dislocation.

He'll pop it back in and be good to go the next game! I dislocated my thumb once playing baseball, doctor popped it back in and it was fine!
When you're born, you get a ticket to the freak show. When you're born in America, you get a front row seat.

He could be out for the rest of the season.
Frankly, I find this to be fortunate. He did play well last night, but I really doubt he is what we need as a starting QB - some strengths, but some significant weaknesses.

My fear was that his play last night would have lead to another round of "hmm, just maybe.....". Having him out give the Vikings the chance to take a serious look at Freeman to see if he "just maybe" the One. Meanwhile, see if the D and others that stepped up last night can continue to improve. Basically, evaluate our talent, particularly the rookies and apparent up and comers (Carlson, etc.).

I suppose the same thing could be said for coaching staff - can they make some adjustments in terms of schemes, and can they develop this talent "in vivo"?

I am all for as many wins as we can. But that needs to be established on the basis of such resources that the team has at this time, or it is time to go mining for new resources.

But what do I know, I am just a shrink with a yellow dog!

Ponder will play vs Seattle. Non throwing shoulder is a plus. Got to say Ponder woke up last night and played well. The int he forced the pass but everything else was solid. Maybe he finally made a statement that he want to keep his job as a starter for the Vikes!

I believe he's already planning on playing in this next game. It's not his throwing shoulder, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue

It's the perfect storm...

Ponder sucks spheres for the first four games, gets hurt and loses his job, then gets it back provisionally because Freeman is horrible and Cassel is "not the future".

Then, Ponder plays the best game of his career, but injures himself again trying to be a hero and will probably end up on IR while Cassel finishes the season.

Setting up the inevitable: "Ponder is our man for 2014" declarations from Spielman and Frazier. :wallbang: :wallbang: :wallbang:
