I know this will be a challenge but..

Post by purplehaze »

......rate the top 5 QB's of all time for the Vikes. Just curious what my fellow Viking brethren think.

My 2 cents:

1. Favre
2. Tark
3. Cunningham
4. Two Minute Tommy
5. I guess Culpepper

Sacrelige! :spank: (and I even like Favre). I would rate them this way:

1) Tarkenton
2) Favre
3) Kapp
4) Kramer
5) Moon

You've got that right.

My list would read:

1.) Fran Tarkenton
2.) Tommy Kramer
3.) Joe Kapp
4.) Daunte Culpepper
5.) A bunch of QBs who stopped off in Minnesota to have one or two good seasons before retiring (Cunningham, Moon, George.,.. and there was one more. I forget his name.)

Isn't it sad that only 2 of those played more than 3 seasons here?

or

1- Fran Tarkenton
2- Daunte Culpepper
3- Randall Cunningham
4- Brett Favre (for only one season he makes top 5) haha
5- Tommy Kramer I guess. For stat purposes as I never seen him play.
Kramer had a ton of promise, he had a fantastic season in 1986, was the pro bowl starter. 1987 strike shortened year, Vikings went 0-3 in replacement player games and finished 8-7 (One game was canceled that year) On the run to the title game that started in New Orleans, they decided to start Wade Wilson, similar to what the 9ers did last season. Worked out well, and I know hindsight is 20/20 at times, but I would have liked to see Kramer start the title game in Washington, little more experience.

Come on Moth Favre has to be at least #5. Don't discriminate just because he was a fudge packer. :)

1. Randall Cunningham
2. Brett Favre
3. Warren Moon
4. Jim Kelly
5. Thurman Thomas

Ok so the last two aren't really Vikings QBs, but I don't really like many of the QBs the Vikings have had.

Fran Tarkenton
Tommy Kramer
Daunte Culpepper
Brad Johnson (the first time around)
Jeff George/Randall Cunningham (both were one-year wonders)

Brett who? The guy who threw the Super Bowl away?
