See this piece from Pelissero on why we may not have seen Rudolph's ceiling (i.e. he had never been a true inline, strongside, "Y" tight end before). I thought his blocking did improve noticeably last season.

#2 – Smallest Guy Makes Big Play
Most of the time, CB Marcus Sherels is the smallest guy on the field. But he knows how to make big-time plays, and he did just that early in practice on Thursday. Sherels, who measures in at 5-10, 175 pounds, shadowed WR Joe Webb on a crossing pattern and then leaped high into the air to fingertip grab an INT on a pass coming from the rifle-armed Bethel-Thompson. It was the right read by Bethel-Thompson and a good route by Webb, but Sherels just made a better play.
This can't be a good sign. 6'10 Joe Webb who can leap from a swimming pool to the top of a water tower gets out-leaped by scrawny 5'10 burn victim Marcus Sherels? Would need video proof to really judge this one. Maybe he had better position or the throw was slightly off or something. Either way, that's not great.

Sherels didn't necessarily out-leap Webb. He could been playing shallow and leapt for the ball in front of the receiver.

True enough. Like I said, I'd need to see it to render a proper judgement. But you gotta believe Webb has the advantage in that matchup.

Looks like Robinson needs to turn his head around on that play w/ Jennings. That was also a great catch by Carlson.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The leash may be shortening on starting guards Brandon Fusco and Charlie Johnson as the Minnesota Vikings work to solidify the weakest part of their offensive line.

Fusco and Johnson took reps with the first-team offense during Wednesday's organized team activities, but coach Leslie Frazier made it clear that both linemen will feel competition through training camp.

"Hopefully, between DeMarcus Love, Travis (Bond), Jeff (Baca) and Seth (Olsen), who we signed as well, we'll create some competition and really push the guys who are starters to improve," Frazier said. "And if for some reason (Fusco and Johnson) stumble, we have some other guys that can step up."
Lol, wut. Minnesota decides at this point in the offseason that Fusco/Johnson may not be the answer at guard? Fusco blows, but I hope he can turn it around. Should have kept Geoff..

Well I hope so, I've been saying for a while now that Charlie Johnson and the G position in general is most likely the weakest link on the team and yes I believe that even with "no one" at MLB. I'm glad the coaches are starting to see it and putting some heat on those 2. Let's hope Baca is the Sullivan of guards!

I'm not convinced that it works that way, but maybe that's why I'm not an NFL head coach. Marcus Johnson isn't going to improve any time soon, no matter who is gunning for his starting job.

Marcus Johnson? You mean Charlie Johnson? If so then I agree.

That was a fun watch. Got to see a lot of the different receivers and the slow motion reveals their technique.
