Lewis was an under-the-radar guy I was sorta hoping we'd bring in for a visit. Starting to concern me a little. If no move is made and Winfield signs elsewhere I shudder to think about our secondary this season.
I hope they bring back Winfield.

Not really up to them. They want him back, but at their price. And we know their limit. I hope they do too. But with the way things went down, I don't know if I was in Winfield's situation if I'd come back (unless that was the only/best $ option). He'd have to swallow some pride. Little surprised he hasn't visited anyone yet.

all true.

I can't imagine why they handled that way if there wasn't already a guy they were hot for.

I read he was encouraged to report back with any numbers he got.....but like you, I'm not exactly sure it's in his best interest. ((sigh))

FWIW word getting around to agents for other free-agent QBs is #Vikings plan to sign Matt Cassel if they can agree on $$. Big if, of course.

A good backup. Hes kinda hit or miss, but at least hes still fairly young. And hes a pocket passer.

And there it is. Joe Webb's competition.
Guess they did agree to the money. RT @JayGlazer: QB Matt Cassel to the Vikings

Good. I'd rather the Vikings had a backup QB with some actual experience, which Cassel definitely has. If Ponder goes down to injury and Cassel comes in, the playbook should remain the same rather than get immediately limited as it does with Webb.

Hopefully, Winfield isn't visiting anyone because he and the Vikings are presently talking, maybe even smoothing things over for his return.

This is a relief. I was more interested in Campbell because I'm concerned at how poorly Cassel has played and his injuries. But this is a huge upgrade IMO. A good fit.

Uhhh...that's not happening at the moment (that's been reported). It's just wishful thinking :)

Steven Jackson to Falcons (Not Green Bay). Falcons are going to be TOUGH this year. Ryan, White, Julio, Jackson, Gonzo. Now that's an offense.
